Tom Brady has once again closed the door on a return to the National Football League despite persistent rumors and conspiracy theories from media.
The 45-year-old announced his second, and seemingly final, retirement on February 1 -- a year after his first retirement.
'I'm certain I'm not playing again, so I've tried to make that clear and I hate to continue to profess that, 'cause I've already told people that lots of times,' Brady told Sports Illustrated.
'I'm looking forward to my broadcasting job at my FOX next year. I'm looking forward to the opportunity ahead with the Raiders -- and we're in the process of that, along with the other different things I'm involved with professionally.'
Brady was reportedly given the 'blessing' of FOX to explore investing in the Las Vegas Raiders.
Tom Brady has once again closed the door on a return to the NFL despite persistent rumors
The seven-time Super Bowl champion was free to explore the opportunity, according to ESPN, with Seth Wickersham and Adam Schefter suggesting his mega 10-year, $375million deal with the broadcaster would be 'unaffected.'
The sale has been agreed upon and submitted to the NFL for approval, which could take some time. There are no plans on addressing the sale at the upcoming spring meeting, per Albert Breer's reporting.
The size and cost of Brady's stake has not been revealed. Team spokespeople have not responded to DailyMail.com's request for confirmation. Brady is already invested in another of Davis' teams: the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces.
