Woman whose mother MISSPELLED her name on her birth certificate says the error HELPED her career

A woman has revealed how her mother misspelling her name on her birth certificate ended up helping her in her career as an adult. 

Sacha Rady, 26, from Atlanta, Georgia, went viral on TikTok after she opened up about the story behind her moniker, which is pronounced 'Sasha.'

The realtor, who is known as @sacharealty on social media, shared that her mother had intended to spell her name Sasha — not Sacha. 

'My mom spelled my name wrong on my birth certificate, and here's why it was actually a huge blessing when I was in corporate America,' she told viewers.

The realtor, who is known as @sacharealty on social media, worked in corporate America because before she got into real estate 

Rady said she was named after the Sasha doll created by Swiss artist Sasha Morgenthaler, calling it the 'British equivalent to the American Girl doll.' 

'Growing up my mom was super poor. She could never afford a Sasha doll. So she said she was going to name her first daughter Sasha,' she explained. 'These dolls were spelled S-A-S-H-A, which is the female way to spell Sasha.'

However, her mom accidentally spelled her name S-A-C-H-A, a gender-neutral name with French and Slavic roots, according to The Bump. 

Rady noted that Sacha is the shortened version of the name Alexander in Russian. 

'When I was in corporate America, when I was emailing people, everybody thought I was a man,' she said. 'They would reply back, "Dear Sir," "Hello, Sir," and I just let that s**t ride.

'I'm a pretty dry and direct person, and if a female is dry and direct in the corporate world, you are a b***h,' she added. 'But, since I was a man, it was just another day in the office.' 

Rady explained that her mother spelled her name Sacha - the shortened version of the name Alexander in Russian - and people assumed she was a man when they emailed her

Rady's viral video inspired a number of people to share their name stories in the comments 

Rady's video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times and has received hundreds of comments since it was posted earlier this year. 

A number of people were also inspired to share their name stories, including those named Sasha. 

'THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH ME!! But my mom spelled it Sacha for school papers. It sucked having to change it again,' one person wrote. 

'My teacher had a girl named "Angel" but it was spelled "Angle" on the birth certificate,' someone else recalled. 

'GIRL!!! I get you. I should have been Yudi but they spelled it Yuri so now I’m a Russian man instead of a Latin women,' another shared. 

Meanwhile, one mom admitted to spelling her son's name wrong, saying that 'instead of Christian, it's Christain.'
