A driver has been arrested after a Honda minivan led cops on a high-speed chase through lower Manhattan, before crashing in the middle of the street.
Police chased the as yet unknown driver after initially stopping the vehicle for a traffic infraction before the driver then fled.
The initial exchange with officers had happened near Delancey St before the driver took off with officers in pursuit earlier this evening
Eye witnesses then recalled seeing numerous police cars and vans pursuing the vehicle on 3rd Avenue around 23rd street shortly after.
Shortly after that, the minivan crashed into another car further up the avenue, where officers moved in and took the driver into custody.

Those watching the scene unfold can be seen taking pictures of the incident as police and paramedics arrived on the scene.
