Wild footage of the moment a 78-year-old slammed into an opticians and sped off before being stopped by cops has emerged online.
The man, who has not been identified, is believed to have 'suffered a medical condition' after crashing his vehicle into the store in Kenner, Louisiana.
The video which circulated online shows the man accelerating backwards into RX Optical next to Babin Physical Therapy at around 9am on Tuesday morning.
A bystander could be seen trying to inspect the accident, before the man came speeding out from the destroyed storefront as a responding officer could be seen arriving at the scene.

The person filming the chaos could be heard screaming 'woah, holy s**t' as the car continued to ram into the business.
'Oh my god, oh my gosh,' she says while running away as the engine of the car can be heard revving inside the store.
The video then cuts to the point at which the driver is speeding out of the store and a woman can be heard screaming in the background.
The bumper of the white vehicle is twisted and falling off as the car drives into the distance before the person filming pans to show an officer running toward her car.
Kenner Police said the driver was 'attempting to park' in front of Babin Physical Therapy for an appointment.
'He accelerated forward, jumped the curb and struck a building column damaging the front portion of the therapy suite,' police said in Facebook post of the incident.
'The driver then placed the vehicle in reverse, backed up into the parking lot, made a 180 degree turn and continued in reverse, jumping the curb and plowing into the building suite next to Babin Physical.'
Cops said he then drove forward out of the building into the parking lot where he was finally stopped by officers.

Police have said that there were no injuries reported and the cause of the accident is still under investigation
'The driver was found to be disoriented, unable to answer basic questions and believed to be suffering from an unknown medical condition,' said police.
