GOP 2024 hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy suggested that he'll try to move forward in a spirit of 'national renewal' that would lead him to consider a pardon for Hunter Biden if he's elected president.
Ramaswamy, while trailing former President Donald Trump, has recently shown himself competitive with the likes of Governor Ron DeSantis for second place in Republican primary polls.
Speaking in Iowa Saturday, where he made headlines for performing Eminem's 'Lose Yourself' for a crowd of supporters, the 38-year-old spoke about his plan to shut down the FBI and reinvent the Department of Justice.
He said that he will 'systemically pardoned anyone who was a victim of a political motivated persecution' as part of his 'great revival.'
That includes Trump, peaceful January 6 protesters and 'members of the Biden family in the interest of moving the nation forward.'
Entrepreneur and political novice Vivek Ramaswamy suggested that he'll try to move forward in a spirit of 'national renewal' that would lead him to consider a pardon for Hunter Biden
Ramaswamy said that he will 'systemically pardoned anyone who was a victim of a political motivated persecution' as part of his 'great revival.' That includes Trump, peaceful January 6 protesters and 'members of the Biden family in the interest of moving the nation forward.'
'It is a broad theme of this candidacy, leading us to a national renewal rather than a national divorce. It's part of a broader vision of an American revitalization,' he told the New York Post.
Ramaswamy said this as he joined the chorus of irate Republicans who criticized the choice of David Weiss as special counsel to investigate the president's troubled son, as a plea deal on his tax and gun crimes was thrown out.
'The Hunter Biden Special Counsel is just a fig leaf designed to distract,' he wrote on Twitter Saturday.
'David Weiss is the *same* person who negotiated the farcical Hunter Biden 'plea deal' that a federal judge rejected handedly. Don't buy the deflection, it's just a smokescreen.'
The appointment is a move from Garland to undermine claims from Republicans and IRS whistleblowers that U.S. Attorney David Weiss doesn't have full authority and is being driven by the Biden administration.
But top GOP lawmakers investigating Hunter and the Biden family immediately trashed the move, calling it an effort to interfere with Republican probes.
They also questioned why Weiss can be trusted when he signed off on the first Hunter deal deemed a slap on the wrist, before it unraveled.
The biotech entrepreneur is the youngest contender for the 2024 Republican nomination but he has had a surprising burst in polling on the race.

He came in fourth in the latest DailyMail.com survey of Iowa voters. And a few national polls showed Ramaswamy in second place above DeSantis. He comes in third in the RealClearPolitics polling average of the race.
Trump still leads the contest by double digits.
But there is no question Ramaswamy, who brings a lot of energy to the campaign stage, has some momentum on his side. He's already reached the qualifications to be on stage for the first GOP presidential debate, which is on August 23rd in Milwaukee.
Polls show younger Republicans and voters with college degrees like the 38-year-old.
In late July, polls began to show Ramaswamy tied with DeSantis for second place at 12 percent, outpacing more experienced candidates.
Behind DeSantis and Ramaswamy every other Republican contender is polling in the single digits.
Born in Ohio to immigrant parents from India, Ramaswamy earned a biology degree from Harvard University and then finished Yale Law School.
He made a fortune after starting a biotech company and is the author of several books, including 'Woke, Inc.' The books helped Ramaswamy gain exposure in conservative circles.
Vivek Ramaswamy ramped up the crowd at the Iowa State Fair with a performance of Lose Yourself
Ramaswamy, 38, ended his fair-side chat with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds Saturday rapping to Eminem's Lose Yourself.
The crowed cheered him on and Reynolds gave him a high-five when he finished his performance.
Reynolds had asked the business mogul his favorite walkout song and Ramaswamy said his was Lose Yourself. She joked she was showing her age by not knowing that tune.
Ramaswamy spent Saturday at the annual event campaigning for votes. The day is proving a busy one for people interested in the 2024 presidential contest: GOP contenders Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley are also campaigning on the fair grounds.
