A Southern California woman was nearly beaten to death by her ex boyfriend as her 15-year-old daughter watched on in horror and screamed out for him to stop.

Shocking video from the attack shows Maria Denis horrifically beaten in the driveway just outside of her Wildomar home on August 13 around 1am.

According to her daughter, Emily De Los Angeles, Denis' ex-boyfriend attempted to slam a car door into her head and repeatedly threw her on the ground.

The woman sustained multiple broken bones - including fractured hips - in the brutal attack and is facing three months or more of recovery, family said.

Denis' ex, the alleged culprit, has been arrested in the incident.

According to a GoFundMe set up for the woman, the ex-boyfriend came over to her home and did not like it when she asked him to leave.

'She told him she wanted nothing to do with him. He didn't like that so decided to attempt to kill her,' Cassandra Nava, Denis' niece, wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The video shows a man beating down on Denis right next to a vehicle and even inside a car at one point as De Los Angeles attempts to stop the attack.

De Los Angeles talked with FOX 11 about the incident, explaining how she intervened in an attempt to save her mother's life during the incident.

'He opens the car door and I remember he tried slamming it on her head,' she said.

The GoFundMe page states that the man eventually ran over the mom of two before fleeing the scene in the woman's vehicle.

Denis was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered multiple broken bones, including a broken back and fractured hips.

In a photo from a hospital bed, the woman appeared with a swollen lip and stitches from a scar on her cheek.

Her family says the road to recovery is long and difficult.

The woman's family is now asking the public for support during this difficult time.

A GoFundMe to help cover expenses has been launched with a goal of $10,000.

As of Thursday, August 17, the fundraiser has brought in just over $2,000.

'With your help, we can emerge from this darkness and begin the journey towards healing,' the GoFundMe page reads. 'Anything helps and is truly appreciated.'

De Los Angeles says she is hoping the community rallies around her mom who has done everything to help her children.

'I really appreciate her,' she said. 'She works two jobs to take care of me and my brother. It's just her.'

'She didn't deserve what happened to her,' De Los Angeles continued.

According to the GoFundMe, Denis is the primary provider for her children.

Money raised from the fundraiser will go toward medical expenses, ongoing care, and 'any other expenses that she and the kids might need.'

The name of the ex-boyfriend accused in the attack has not been released by police.

DailyMail.com made numerous attempts to contact police in Wildomar for additional information on the case but cops could not be reached.

'I'm happy that they got him,' said De Los Angeles.

It's unclear what the man has been charged with at this time.
