A woman has died suddenly in her sleep in Bali after suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Geelong mother Lindy Joy Turner was staying on the Indonesian tourist hotspot when it's understood she died some time this week.

Her family has set up an online fundraiser to raise money for her funeral costs.

'Sadly we would like to announce the passing of Mick's beautiful wife of 39 years Lindy Joy Turner,' reads the GoFundMe campaign description.

'Lindy passed away in her sleep here in Bali. The reasons are still hazy but she was struggling with a huge cold and breathing difficulties.

'Her lungs were full of fluid and her body just could not cope.'

It's understood the money raised will go towards funeral costs.

Mr Turner was the 'wife of Michael, mother and mother-in-law of Marlee and Mark, Shaun and Bec and devoted nanny of Kobe and Seth,' according to the GoFundMe page.

'Thanking you all in advance for your love and support to assist with our beautiful friends farewell.'

The campaign organiser is listed as Michael Turner, Lindy's husband, although it appears the campaign information was written by someone else.

At the time of writing the campaign has raised almost $11,000 of its $15,000 target.

It comes just over a month since the death of Melbourne father Rajiv Jayarajah, who collapsed while staying on Bali on June 30.

The 43-year-old had suffered a seizure and underwent emergency brain surgery, but died from a brain haemorrhage on July 9.

Sydney man Charlie Bradley died after collapsing outside of a medical clinic in Canggu early on the morning of April 17.

The 28-year-old real estate agent's family are hoping an autopsy will shed more light on his exact cause of death.

And Perth man Troy Johnston was killed after being hit with a bar stool on February 23, allegedly at the hands of the owner of a bar he was drinking at in the southern district of Ungasan.
