A retired Colorado doctor arrested on drug and gun charges when police raided his luxury yacht lives in an exclusive Florida enclave filled with 'strange people' who have 'more money than God.'

Scott Burke, 69, practiced medicine in Denver, Colorado, but also has an opulent address at the Ocean Reef Club, a private, gated estate in Key Largo in the Sunshine State.

Those who are wealthy enough to be members of the club pay tens of millions of dollars to ensure their privacy while enjoying waterfront homes away from 'prying eyes.'

The area is known for opulent residences with one six-bed, 10-bath Ocean Reef home, for example, currently on the market for $35 million in the area.

'One of the great features of a private club such as Ocean Reef is the privacy. Many of our members can come with their family and feel that they are home, away from prying eyes and curious onlookers,' the website for the enclave reads.

'Ocean Reef Club offers rich traditions that span generations and a membership that has always attracted entrepreneurs that value spending time with family.'

The Key Largo hideaway features a marine, three 'championship' golf courses and its own private airport with security said to be so tight at the that even visitors are subjected to fingerprinting.

'They have more money than freaking God out there and they act like they can do whatever they want. It's like millionaires row … People come down here and they think there are no rules so they do stupid s***,' one longtime local resident told the New York Post

'You have to get your fingerprints taken there. It's too much.' said one local worker, a boat mechanic, to the Post.

'That's a secluded place. I can't go there even if the owner invites me to go to the bar because of the regulations of the club. If you don't live there, then forget it.'

The worker noted how many 'strange people' also lived inside in the community.

'You don't see families living there. You see guys like that — people with private jets. They party for a week, then go away. The way they're protected, nobody can just knock on your door. There are no surprises,' he explained.

'I know something is fishy there. If you ask anyone around, you know something is fishy there,' he added, speaking about its reputation.

Earlier this week Burke was charged with possessing a firearm without a permit, having ammunition, as well as possession and trafficking of Class A and B drugs.

Authorities boarded his boat named the Jess Conn in the harbor of ritzy island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The 70-ft motor yacht is registered in the Cayman Islands.

Burke pleaded not guilty and was ordered held, pending the detention hearing in Plymouth District Court, the Boston Globe reported. It is unclear if he has since posted bail.

Investigators found cocaine, ketamine together with weapons and ammo in the main floor bedroom.

There was also a loaded gun rested on the bookshelf and a plastic bag of cocaine on the nightstand.

Burke claimed he has licenses for the guns but authorities said it had been issued outside Florida and expired last year.
