Jenna Bush Hager had her Today co-hsot Hoda Kotb in hysterics on Thursday when she revealed her eight-year-old daughter, Poppy, announced that she hopes to get her 'mom's boobs' after learning about puberty.

The Today co-hosts started chatting about the birds and bees on the show after Kotb, 59, shared how a stranger on a train misheard her when she asked for a pen and instead handed her a tampon wrapped in a napkin 'like it was contraband.'

The story reminded Bush Hager, 41, of the comical moment she asked her husband, Henry Hager, to buy her tampons.

'When Henry and I first got together and he had to buy me tampons for the first time, I might as well have asked him to buy me illegal drugs,' she joked. 'He was like, "I got the goods, I got them!"

'And now, after 15 years, he’s like, "What do you need? A tampon? Ma'am, [I need] tampons!"' she said, imitating him on the phone. 'He doesn’t care.'

Kotb then asked Bush Hager if she has had 'all those talks' about puberty with her 10-year-old daughter, Mila.

'Yeah, well, she read Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret — thank you to Judy Blume,' the mother of three replied. 'She came in and she was like, "What is puberty?" She was a little young, but I said it's when a woman's body changes.'

Bush Hager estimated that Mila was 'probably eight' at the time, noting that she was an early reader.'

'She was interested and I explained it to her,' she told Kotb, who is mom to daughters Haley, six, and Hope, four.

The former first daughter added that her younger daughter, Poppy, had a hilarious takeaway after she learned about puberty.

'Evidently, the other day in the car, Henry was taking them to school, and out of nowhere Poppy goes, "I hope I get mom’s boobs,"' she said.

'And Mila was like, "I don’t, I would rather not." Poppy’s like, "When I go through puberty I hope I get mom’s boobs."'

Kotb couldn't contain her laughter as Bush Hager explained, 'Well, that’s what happens when you go through puberty — you develop breasts.'

'Thanks for the tutorial,' her co-host replied sarcastically.

Kotb shared that she became curious about having these talks with children after realizing she had learned about puberty in school in the '70s.

'No parents were sitting down and having a conversation,' she said.

Bush Hager agreed that she had a similar experience with her parents, former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

'No one was ever like, "Let’s sit down and discuss,"' she recalled.

Bush Hager, who also has a four-year-old son, Hal, explained that she has yet to have 'the talk' with her children, but she will 'one day.'

'I'm evolved,' she said.
