Jets head coach Robert Saleh had some high praise for injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers following New York's 20-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rodgers has been out since suffering a torn Achilles after only four plays in Week 1 but he continues to make a difference around the organisation.
'His superpower is his presence,' Saleh said on Monday. 'Him being in this building, being around his teammates, being in the locker room, his positive attitude, his thoughts of manifestation and all that stuff, I think it's powerful.'
Rodgers originally planned to be back with the Jets following their bye in Week 7 as he continues rehab on his Achillies.
But the 10-time Pro Bowler was reportedly an 'active voice... giving suggestions to Jets coaches' during Sunday's win at MetLife Stadium.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh praised Aaron Rodgers, saying: 'His superpower is his presence'
Rodgers was on the sidelines with the Jets during Sunday's victory over the Eagles
The 10-time Pro Bowl QB was said to be an ' active voice. .. giving suggestions to Jets coaches'
'I guess you'd have to ask (offensive coordinator Nathaniel) Hackett on how much it actually provides,' Saleh said of Rodgers' in-game input.
'But I definitely know he's got thoughts and I know he's helping the quarterback the best he can. So him having a headset on, I can tell you this much: It doesn't hurt.'
Rodgers was also on the headset with coaches during preseason and it was revealed on HBO's Hard Knocks that he called a play that resulted in backup QB Zach Wilson throwing a 57-yard touchdown pass to Malik Taylor.
It also did not go unnoticed on Sunday that Rodgers was allowed to stand on the sidelines as opposed to being up in the coaching box. As noted by some observers, players recovering from Achillies injuries or similar problems are often kept away from the field for fear of colliding with a fellow player.
'Yeah, it's unbelievable,' Wilson said of Rodgers. 'I mean, that dude's demeanor, the way he attacks everything, is special. So I'm not surprised at all.'
