Voice actress Tara Strong, who appeared in Rugrats, Teen Titans, and The Powerpuff Girls, has been ousted after she liked a post saying 'Islam is dangerous'.

Strong, 50, has been dropped from her role in the animated series Boxtown over her recent posts and comments about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Strong, known for voicing characters on several Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon shows, posted a response to Boxtown's statement announcing the removal of her and the recasting of the role of Bill—previously played by Strong.

'Just found out on twitter!' she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. 'This is what happens when you help fans get shows made I guess.

'Fired for being Jewish. Glad I helped you get your kickstarter money. Please lose my email address & pray for my family in Israel and in Gaza. &#prayforpeace' the post continues.

The official account of Boxtown said last week in a post: 'We will be recasting the role of Bill (previously played by Tara Strong). We'll have more info soon on open auditions. '

The account posted a statement Monday, announcing the removal of Strong again and said it 'was not a difficult decision'.

'This decision was due to a trend among Tara's recent online activity, including posts that promote controversial messages regarding the peoples of Palestine currently affected by the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis,' the statement says.

Fans were outraged by the decision, with some slamming the show for cutting ties with Strong because she is Jewish, echoing her post.

'I've seen this before,' one wrote in the comments.

The show's account replied with Boxtown writer Spencer Rothbell's tweet saying other voice actors and writers on the show are Jewish.

'The other main character is voiced by a Jewish person (Alex Hirsch), the cowriter of the pilot (me) is a Jew too…try again!' Rothbell spoke out.

Rothbell wrote: 'this is an absurd claim to make', in response to Strong saying she was 'fired for being Jewish'.

Strong sparked controversy with a series of posts commenting on the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Social media users posted a screenshot of her liking a post calling Islam as 'a real, clear, and present danger' and equating Islam, Hamas and Taliban with ISIS.

Strong later unliked the post and responded: 'I liked it when I saw ISIS = HAMAS, I actually didn't read the entire tweet with is awful and unliked as soon as I realized.

'I love everyone...except terrorists. This internet is so quick to peg people and make judgements. I'm still here to help everyone and I mean that,' she wrote.

In its statement, Boxtown wrote: 'We believe that our public platform gives us a duty to be careful when it comes to hateful messages and misinformation online. This extends to our cast and crew. This was not a difficult decision.'

The show's account also added that information about recasting will be announced in the coming weeks.

'Our hearts are with the Palestinian and Israeli children and families being affected by the ongoing conflict. People should be able to live freely without being threatened by constant abuse and terror,' the post concluded.
