A 45-year-old American man was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia on Tuesday.

Johny Jerome traveled to Medellín to celebrate his birthday and enjoyed a night out with his cousin Monday evening, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported.

According to a police report, the victim's cousin said they had been in the country for two days and returned to their suite at the Provenza Lofts hotel with two women around 3:30am Tuesday.

The women left the apartment around 5:30 am and Jerome apparently went to sleep while his cousin remained in the living room having a drink.

His cousin woke up several hours later and discovered Jerome’s body lying inside the apartment’s jacuzzi. He sought assistance from hotel employees, who contacted authorities.

Valle de Aburrá Metropolitan Police colonel Eddy Sánchez said that Jerome’s body did not show signs of violence.

Jerome’s death comes nearly two months-and-a-half after dual United States-Venezuelan citizen Richard Pacheco, 43, was found dead in the apartment he was renting.

Pacheco had traveled to visit a friend in Medellín and was nearly robbed by two women the early morning of August 12 at a nightclub.

He and his friends ended their night out and returned to the home, where he was discovered dead around 11am.

In February, authorities found the decomposed body of U.S. citizen Robert Lyden, 49, in a Medellín apartment after a concerned friend visited the home to do a wellness check.
