'Have you ever come across the incredible Chinese Pee Pee Boy? These are clay figurines that have been popular as tea pets for centuries,' she said at the beginning of the video.
Then, she showed the tea pet squirting out a stream of water as she poured the hot liquid on it.
'But unlike other tea pets, the Pee Pee Boy may actually be the world's first thermometer.
'This is because they only squirt out a stream of water when the temperature is hot enough for making tea.
'Considering Galileo invented the thermometer in 1952, the Pee Pee Boy may have pre-dated that by over 900 years,' she said.
To use the device, you should submerge it for ten minutes until it's filled with room- temperature water.
Then, after boiling water, pour the hot water over the Pee Pee Boy's head.
If it emits a long stream, this means the water is hot enough for the tea.
