She wrote in her caption: 'Second annual wrapping weekend! Booked a hotel for two nights, wrapped all gifts, order takeout, watch tons of tv and no one asked me for anything.'

McKelligan's video, which was fittingly accompanied with a backing track of Sia's Candy Cane Lane, showed her rolling up to the hotel with bundles of presents.

She slipped into some very festive attire before treating herself to a Starbucks and getting to work.

She sat at the table in the room and began wrapping gifts while she stole glances at the TV on the wall.

And, after McKelligan finished wrapping, it was time for a well-earned rest.

She sat back on the bed and admired her handywork before rewarding herself with a beer and bag of chips.

The final shot showcased all the presents ready to be taken back to her family home.

McKelligan's video has so far been viewed more than 2.8 million views and flooded with compliments from her followers.

One person wrote: 'This is the greatest thing I've ever seen!! You're a genius,' and she responded: 'This cracks me up...it is the greatest! Why isn't it already a thing?!?'

Another person added: 'Wait a min...so we're not hiding in our -0 degree garage, wrapping at 1 a.m. anymore? Noted,' and she replied: 'Right!?!'

A third person commented: 'Okay but hear me out, an Airbnb so all moms can wrap and sip together,' and she replied 'I think you're onto something!!'

'Everyone complaining about lugging gifts. I'd be at home doing every single thing but wrapping. That's why I get the hotel idea!! Love it,' wrote a fourth commenter.

But there were some who were not sold on the idea.

One person wrote: 'Oh...we're in a different tax bracket.'

Another person added: 'Naw I'd go back home and find 17 more presents that I hid around the house and stress out again,' and she replied: 'Correct.'

'I feel like it'd be easier to just kick my family out of the house for two days because lugging those gifts up and down,' a third person wrote.

'I would end up defaulting to eating all the snacks while watching tv and getting zero wrapping done,' wrote a fourth commenter.

Some followers gave additional suggestions as one person wrote: 'Or you could do it one day at the house and the next night go stay in a hotel room and relax.'

Another person suggested: 'Okay but can I do this once a month for educational purposes??'

She replied: 'I feel like we should, good thinking.'
