An Alaskan couple were found dead after they were caught in a severe snowstorm - and haunting final images give a heartbreaking glimpse into their last moments.
Alaska State Troopers said the bodies of Dustin Gologergen, 55, and his partner Charlene Habros, 34, were found near mile 41 of the Nome-Teller Highway.
The pair had left Teller on a single snow machine on December 10 and were meant to return home to Nome the same night.
But when there was no sign of them, the Alaska State Troopers were notified early next morning, and search teams from Teller and Nome were sent out.
Due to weather restrictions, the Nome team was forced to stop the search and the Troopers could not use a helicopter to find the pair.
Ultimately, The Rescue Coordination Center sent out an Alaska National Guard C-130 plane to look for the couple.
According to the dispatch, the search plane successfully located the damaged snowmachine but there were no signs of the two.
But on December 12, once the weather had cleared up, a search team arrived at the location where the snowmobile was found, and the couple's bodies were discovered in the snow.
