Mama June Shannon considering putting her grieving granddaughters in therapy to cope with the loss of their mother Anna 'Chickadee' Toney

'Mama' June Shannon has been considering putting her two grieving granddaughters in therapy to cope with the recent loss of their mother Anna Marie 'Chickadee' Toney.

The 44-year-old matriarch's eldest daughter tragically lost her 10-month battle to stage four adrenal carcinoma, at age 29, on December 9.

Anna's youngest daughter Kylee Madison Cardwell turned 8 the same day she died, and her ex-husband Michael Cardwell gained legal custody of his child.

'The sisters have been calling each other and grieving together,' an insider told TMZ on Monday.

'It's been harder for Kylee to understand her mom's death [due to her age]. She has been leaning on her friends for support and went back to school Friday, which the family sees as a good sign. The school had a field trip, and the family felt it was a good time for Kylee to go back.'

June gained legal custody of Toney's 11-year-old daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth Clark, whose father is rumored to have been her high school sweetheart Caleb Clark.

Little Kaitlyn worked up the courage to speak at the Five Star Toyota salesperson's funeral, which took place at the Williams White-Columns Funeral Home in Gordon, GA last Wednesday.

'She shared memories of her time with Anna, some of which brought laughs,' the insider said.

'Kaitlyn was very involved in Anna's cancer battle, making sure her mom took her medicine and sticking by her side throughout the process. So there's a lot to unpack.'

On Sunday, Shannon's husband of 10 months - Justin Stroud - used semi-permanent hair dye to color Kaitlyn's front blonde strands bright red.

And while the Georgia native noted that 'nothing will bring back their mother' she did set up Amazon wish lists for her granddaughters and encouraged fans to send gifts/cards to P.O. Box 631, Gordon, GA 31031.

Anna 'did not want to rot in the ground' so June had her remains cremated and put inside an urn so that the family can carry her 'with us every step of that we take in our life.'

Before her death, Toney secretly wed her boyfriend since 2017 - Eldridge Toney - on March 4, and the We TV cameras were rolling at the intimate ceremony for the upcoming seventh season - according to TMZ.

'The filming was something that Anna wanted to do,' Eldridge told People on Sunday.

'She wanted to bring awareness to her rare type of cancer because there is still so much unknown about it and it is very rare.'

The former Walmart stocker was introduced on Toddlers and Tiaras and the spin-off Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which TLC canceled in 2014 after four seasons due to June's boyfriend Mark McDaniel who was convicted of molesting Cardwell.
