After losing both of her parents to cancer and discovering she inherited a gene for breast, ovarian and skin cancer, Angie Linderman is determined to live her best life.

The 38-year-old, who was told she had the BRCA2 gene mutation, underwent a preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery to lower her risk of cancer.

Realizing how short life is, the Pacific Northwest native decided to also embark on the Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise and spend a whopping nine months at sea.

'There is no way I'm waiting to do s*** till I retire,' Angie told her followers in a now-viral TikTok video. 'Because that's not promised to any of us.'

The freelance marketing consultant left for her journey earlier in December, and will spend 274 days at sea onboard the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas.

The cruise will visit more than 60 countries, with passengers seeing 11 wonders of the world - on a vacation that cost anywhere between $53,000 to more than $105,000.

While Angie won't be back on dry land until late 2024, she's sprung to social media stardom with her TikTok videos, amassing more than 160,000 followers on the app from documenting her journey on the ship.

Her decision to board the mega-cruise came after a tumultuous few years. Angie's father passed away at 65 from prostate cancer in 2013, and her mother died at the same age from breast cancer in August 2021.

'My family's genetics aren't lining me up to let me have a terribly long life so doing all the things I can now is kind of the motto,' Angie explained in a TikTok video.

Angie made the decision to continue working while on board the ship, but scaled back to part-time to enjoy her travels, with her brother, sister-in-law and his children also on board.

In a TikTok, Angie explained she could afford the trip, and to cut back on work, as she inherited some money from her parents when they passed.

'I've always really loved to travel and always wanted that to be how I spend my time and money,' she explained.

Angie admitted her genetic makeup has spurred her to embrace the now, rather than waiting until she's older to tick things off her bucket list.

'[The cruise] seemed like the most logical way to do it,' she added.

Before embarking on her journey, Angie often shared her health updates to social media.

'I had a double preventative mastectomy, which means removing all breast tissue including my nipples,' she explained.

She continued saying she had reconstructive surgery and now has implants.

'I will do the same with my ovaries when I get back from the cruise,' she added.

Angie also told USA Today: 'It was nice to have those moments when I was recovering and not myself to know this trip was happening and to be looking forward to all those experiences.'
