An elderly man had his throat slashed with a boxcutter after he asked a man not to urinate on a car outside a church.
The 66-year-old was rushed to hospital after he and a security guard approached the man on New York City's Lower East Side about 5pm on Sunday.
The victim was a churchgoer at Immaculate Conception Church, and spotted the man about to urinate on an employee's car, police said.
Not pleased to be told off, the man argued with the pair before taking out the boxcutter and slashing the victim's throat, then fled.
