Glamorous 19-year-old woman is killed and stuffed in a suitcase as her Colombian soldier boyfriend, 21, turns himself into police

A 19-year-old woman was found dead inside a suitcase at the home of her soldier boyfriend at their home in Medellín, Colombia.

The prosecutor's office said Isabella Mesa's corpse was stuffed in the luggage bag, which was discovered in one of the rooms by the mother of the alleged killer, Sebastián Villegas, 2, on Sunday night.

Villegas, an officer in the Colombian army, turned himself in to Metropolitan Police on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson with the Colombian Attorney General's Office confirmed to DailyMail.com.

Authorities said Mesa, a mother of the two-year-old son, had been living in Mexico and recently returned to Medellín to spend time with Villegas.

Colombian authorities said Isabella Mesa had returned from Mexico, where she was living, to spend time with her boyfriend and army soldier, Sebastián Villegas 

Villegas had asked his mother for permission to allow Mesa to stay at their home from Thursday until February 2.

A woman told Noticias RCN that Villegas presented a strange behavior after he asked residents for help in finding a cart.

'(He said) that he had a garbage that was too heavy, that he needed to take it out and we told him that we did not have any here,' she said. 

'He then went to a neighbor's (home) and he was not there. When he saw the police he took off, but nobody knew what had happened.'

A man told the station that Mesa's body was wrapped with a cloth inside the suitcase.

Authorities have not said how she was killed and did not provide a motive.

Villegas, who is awaiting charges, could serve up to 50 years in prison if he convicted.

Mesa's murder evoked memories of Valentina Trespalacios, the 21-year-old dj whose body was found jammed inside a suitcase after it was abandoned in a dumpster in Bogotá on January 22,2023 by her American boyfriend, John Poulos.

Poulos recently told Colombian news magazine Semana that he and Trespalacios took drugs and drank alcohol during his visit. 

Prosecutors alleged that the divorced father-of-three, strangled Trespalacios after he beat and had set with her and then stuffed her body into a luggage bag.

Poulos then drove to El Dorado International Airport and boarded a flight to Panamá City. He was apprehended two days later at Tocumen International Airport, where he was planning to take a second flight to Istanbul, Turkey.

He had also purchased a ticket to Montenegro, which does not have an extradition with Colombia.
