The New Hampshire woman who was compacted by a garbage truck four times after 'falling' into a dumpster has been released from the hospital with minor injuries.

The 60-year-old victim, who has yet to be identified, told firefighters she fell into the dumpster while tossing her garbage out on Monday.

The Manchester Fire Department and ambulances responded to the scene around 1pm at a housing complex on Beech Hill Drive and began the process of lifting the woman out of the truck.

Neighbors told Boston 25 that the unnamed victims lives in the area and Manchester Fire Chief Ryan Cashin told Manchester Ink Link that the woman 'was not an unsheltered individual.'

Once she was safely rescued from the bizarre incident, which Cashin said he had 'never seen before,' the woman was taken to Elliot Hospital and is now back home.

Video footage from the scene captured emergency crews working together to save the woman who was picked up by a garbage truck on collection day.

The truck driver did not know that someone was inside the bin until he finally spotted the woman through a camera that was placed inside the truck, after it compacted her at least four times.

The rescuers used a basket to lift the woman out of the truck that was pulled by the fire truck crane.

It's unclear how long the woman was in the dumpster but firefighters said they were able to speak to her through an access point, where she was heard talking and screaming, but could not clearly answer questions.

'My kids are home from school, and they're watching. I was like, girls, once you see her come out, I don't want you watching,' said neighbor Matthew Czzowitz to Boston 25

Firefighters quickly decided to get to the woman through the roof of the truck and soon placed her in  a harness attached to a rescue basket.

She was then transferred onto a gurney as both paramedics and firefighters rolled her to an ambulance as snow flurries fell from the sky.

Manchester Fire Chief Ryan Cashin said the incident was something that he has 'never seen before' and confirmed that the woman 'was not an unsheltered individual'

'All you heard was screaming. She was in agony,' neighbor Amanda Czzowitz said.

Though the woman claimed she fell in the dumpster, Cashin said it is still unclear how she got inside.

'The victim was in the trash truck from the dumpster, she was dumped at some point,' he told WHDH

The fire chief confirmed he and his crew had to perform a 'technical rescue,' which is when firefighters have to use specialized skills and tools to conduct a rescue.

'I couldn't be prouder of the firefighters here today, all the companies on scene did a great job, this is not a textbook rescue, you know,  but this is what we do, we show up, we use what we've got, and we get it done,' Cashin said.
