A woman has claimed that she was fired on the first day of her new job after arriving an hour late due to a blizzard.

Damita JoMama, from Arkansas, took to TikTok to share her shocking story about being dismissed on the spot from a 'popular ambulance company' - although she did not name her former employer.

She said that the state had been unexpectedly hit with two to three inches of snow, which it is not fully equipped to deal with - lacking snow plows and road salting processes.

But despite this, the content creator claimed that her new boss showed little mercy after she 'risked her life' to get there before she was 'walked out' of the building.

In the clip, which has so far been viewed 900,000 times, Damita sat in her car as she spoke directly to camera.

'I quit my previous job that I loved to do this because the benefits were better, the pay was better and the hours were supposed to be better.

'As much as I loved that previous job, I got a child to think about and I need more money. I need better benefits.'

She explained that on the day she was meant to start her new role Arkansas had unexpectedly been covered in a blanket of snow.

But, rather than telling her new boss that she couldn't make it in through the blizzard, Damita decided to drive her mom's SUV to tackle the icy terrain.

'I have never had to drive a snow before because every job I've had previous to this I've always been off when it snow,' she added.

Damita said she was 'terrified' as she made her way through the streets, stating: 'Long story short, I get there almost an hour late but I'm thinking okay, I'm going to be apologetic.'

But her boss 'did not care' and called her out for not arriving on time.

'She's basically saying "we can get here, why couldn't you get here?"'

'And I'm like, that's fine and dandy, but, baby, I'm not used to driving in snow. I got here as quick as I could. I risked my doggone life getting here for this job.'

Damita claimed that she was told she had already missed the necessary training and that they were not able to go back over the information.

She was then escorted out of the building, adding: 'Long story short, f**k that job and hopefully I can get my old job back.'

But after being met with backlash from viewers, Damita shared a second video in which she responded to a comment that read: 'You should have left earlier knowing it was snowing.'

She explained: 'It took longer than expected cause I've never driven in the snow before.

'Why not give people a little leniency?'

She let her followers know that she even had her bags packed so that she would be ready to spend the week in a hotel close to the hospital if the storm got worse.

But, with other social media users still debating, Damita posted yet another follow-up in response to one viewer calling her out over 'excuses.'

She confessed that she expected a 'lecture on proper time management and planning, maybe even a write-up' from her new boss.

'I did not expect to be talked to like a f**king child, basically called a liar and her rude-a** attitude.

'And I didn't expect to be fired without being given a second chance to prove that this was a fluke, that this was just a one-off,' the content creator stated.

She informed her viewers that 'at the end of the day, I have another job and I'm not even tripping.'

Damita has since disabled the comments on all three of her videos.
