Friday's broadcast of 'Speak' on Fox Sports 1 took an interesting turn when an earthquake rocked the studio as the program went on air.
The incident happened while broadcaster Joy Taylor previewed Super Bowl LVIII with former NFL players LeSean McCoy, Emmanuel Acho and James Jones. As Taylor was discussing the stakes of Sunday's game for Patrick Mahomes, an earthquake rattled through Southern California and caused the cameras to rock back and forth on set.
The panel looked around and appeared confused as the studio shook for a few seconds. However, Taylor remained collected and carried on with the segment.
'We are experiencing an earthquake, it's okay. Yes it's an earthquake, that's what's happening,' Taylor calmly said before resuming the conversation.
The pundits immediately reacted to their experience with Acho joking that Taylor was 'shaking Earth' with her take.
An earthquake rattled the studio during FS1's 'Speak' as Joy Taylor talked about the Super Bowl
Panelist Emmanuel Acho joked that Taylor was 'shaking earth' with her Super Bowl take
'Joy Taylor out here shaking Earth,' Acho exclaimed. 'Quite literally, the lights in the studio started to shake. The whole stage started to shake. The cameras, you could see, started to shake.
'We were all confused as to what in the world was happening.'
Taylor said that Mahomes needs to win in Las Vegas and earn his third ring to be in the same conversation as the likes of Tom Brady. Once the earthquake settled down, she added that a third title will make this Chiefs' team a dynasty and put Mahomes on track to catch Brady's seven titles.
The earthquake struck at 1.47pm PT and measured at a magnitude of 4.6 according to the United States Geological Survey. The USGS also reported that about 16 after shocks hit the Los Angeles area within an hour of the initial earthquake.
This, however, did not stop Taylor from delivering her thoughts on Sunday's big game.
