The feud between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis is back on, and the proof is in the pudding.
Trump senior advisor Chris LaCivita ridiculed Trump's 2024 rival and foil who nevertheless has endorsed Trump's candidacy after DeSantis took himself off Trump's short list to be his vice presidential running mate.
'Chicken fingers and pudding cups is what you will be remembered for you sad little man' fumed LaCivita, among Trump's top advisors who is expected to assume a leadership role at the Republican National Committee, wrote in a sneering post on X.
His missive came after DeSantis was critical of Trump on a video call with supporters of his suspended campaign, arguing against Trump playing 'identity politics' with his vice presidential pick.

'Now we have a diverse Republican Party. I want everybody in the fold, don't get me wrong. But I don't want people representing 10, 15% of the party being in the driver's seat,' DeSantis said, NBC reported after obtaining audio of the talk with delegates to the Republican convention in Milwaukee.
'So I would want somebody that, if something happened, the people that voted us in would have been pleased to know that they're going to continue the mission,' he said.
'I'm not sure that those are going to necessarily be the criteria that Donald Trump uses. … I have heard that they're looking more in identity politics. I think that's a mistake. I think you should just focus on who the best person for the job would be, and then do that accordingly.'
DeSantis also said he wouldn't be up for running alongside Trump, whom he endorsed after dropping out after coming in a distant second place in Iowa.
'People were mentioning me [as a potential vice president]. I am not doing that,' he said. He also predicted Trump would staff his White House with 'yes men' who would do his bidding.

His commentary came after Trump surprisingly included DeSantis on a short list of potential running mates – even after mercilessly mocking him throughout the campaign as 'Ron DeSanctimonious.'
Yet during a town hall on Fox News this week, Trump dropped DeSantis' name, along with former rival South Carolina Gov. Tim Scott, who unliked DeSantis appeared onstage behind Trump after the former president carried New Hampshire.
Trump also mentioned former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who is now an independent and a critic of her former party. He also mentioned entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who is stumping for Trump in South Carolina, Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds, and South Carolina Gov. Kristi Noem.
All of the names Trump floated besides DeSantis were minorities or women.
The 'pudding' joke referenced a report early in the campaign that DeSantis ate pudding with his fingers on a private plane. During the campaign he cited a 'controversy' within his family over chicken fingers and the best proprietors of fried chicken.
It isn't the first time the Trump camp has tried to use the pudding scoop to its advantage, although DeSantis said he didn't 'remember ever doing that.'
In a brutal ad released by MAGA inc., an actor playing DeSantis dips his fingers into a chocolate pudding, swirls them around and shoves them into his mouth. 'Ron DeSantis loves sticking his fingers where they don't belong, and we're not just talking about pudding,' the ad says. 'Somebody get this man a spoon,' it concluded.
