Senator John Fetterman has zero tolerance for Democrats criticizing President Biden ahead of the presidential election saying they might as well be Trump supporters.
'If you're not willing to just support the president, and say these kinds of things, you might as well just get your MAGA hat because you're just helping Trump with this,' the Democratic Pennsylvania senator fumed in an interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe on Thursday.
The outspoken senator pulled no punches going after members of his own party who have publicly gone after the president as Biden has faced a barrage of concern over his age, but also on policy like immigration in the war in Gaza.
'I don't know what's in it for you to do that, whether you're just chasing clout or you want to make it in the news or anything like that,' Fetterman said.
The freshman senator warned it is going to be a very competitive presidential race in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, but he predicted Biden would win.
'The president is going to win here in Pennsylvania, and I've always believed whoever wins Pennsylvania is going to be the next president as well too,' Fetterman insisted, but he said 'it's going to be difficult.'

President Biden won Pennsylvania in 2020 by just over 80,000 votes after former President Trump flipped the state red in 2016 by less than 45,000 votes.
A February poll of Pennsylvania voters by Emerson College found the race to be a dead-heat in the Keystone State with Trump polling at 45 percent while Biden held 43 percent. It showed independents and women breaking for Biden while Trump has more support from men.
Fetterman has been a fervent ally of Biden since even before taking office. He did not shy away from the president appearing with him at events as he campaigned in his own tight senate race in 2022 despite the president's low approval ratings during the midterms.
Just days ago, Fetterman also traveled to Nevada to make the case for Biden's re-election where he describing the president as a 'tough motherf***er.'
Fetterman has played defense on concerns about the 81-year-old president's age and mental acuity after Special Counsel Robert Hur's report raised questions about his memory.
The senator, who has faced his own health challenges suffering a stroke while running for the Senate in 2022, pushed back on the report calling it a smear and a 'cheap shot.' He said Biden is 'absolutely in full control.'
Fetterman has also been on the receiving end of criticism from the progressive wing of the Democratic party for his vocal support of Israel in the aftermath of the terror attack on October 7.
The senator has dug in rejecting calls for a cease-fire while calling on Hamas to surrender and for Israeli hostages to be returned home.
