SAG Awards 2024: Emily Blunt exudes glamour in plunging red gown as she, Carey Mulligan, Cillian Murphy and Hannah Waddingham lead the British and Irish stars attending the ceremony

Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, Cillian Murphy and Hannah Waddingham led the British and Irish stars at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Saturday night. 

Emily, 41, who was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category but lost out to Lily Gladstone, ensured all eyes were on her as she donned a custom Louis Vuitton red gown.

The actress looked incredible in the deeply plunging number and drew further attention to her red carpet look with a gold necklace and matching wristbands.

Letting her coiffed blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders, Emily was oozing Hollywood glamour as she completed her with a pair of diamond earrings.

The actress teamed up with a talented glam squad ahead of her red carpet appearance - working with longtime hairstylist Laini Reeves and makeup artist Jenn Streicher.

The Maestro star complemented her outfit with a pair of matching heels and styled her blonde locks into an elegant bob.

Cillian looked dapper for the event in a black blazer with matching trousers and bow tie along with a crisp white shirt.

The film star was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Oppenheimer. 

Meanwhile, Ted Lasso star Hannah, 49, turned heads in a dark red off the shoulder dress with a high leg split that accentuated her toned pins. 

Hannah's co-star Juno Temple, who played Keeley Jones, cut a glamorous figure in a navy strapless dress with a cut out detail along the sides that highlighted her toned midriff. 

The actress added height to her frame with a pair of black open-toed heels and carried a matching clutch bag.

Styling her blonde locks into voluminous curls, Juno completed her look for the evening with a black choker.

Lily Gladstone upset A-listers Emma Stone and Margot Robbie while Oppenheimer triumphed in most of the major film categories at the awards.

The 37-year-old Native American actress Lily earned the coveted Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her incredible work in Killers Of The Flower Moon. 

Cillian earned the Male Actor in a Leading Role gong while Robert Downey Jr. took home Male Actor in a Supporting Role with the entire ensemble earning top honor Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Oppenheimer at the end of the night.

Meanwhile critically acclaimed Succession was upset several times in the television categories, including by Elizabeth Debicki, who beat out Sarah Snook for The Crown, while The Last Of Us star Pedro Pascal triumphed over Kieran Culkin, Brian Cox and Matthew Macfadyen.

Bradley looked smart in a black suit with a matching tie and white shirt as he joined Carey at the ceremony

The HBO series did ultimately take home top honor Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Elsewhere in television The Bear earned  Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in addition to Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor and Male Actor in a Comedy Series for Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White, respectively.

They were not the only dynamic duo to triumph as Beef's Ali Wong and Steven Yeun took home Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor and Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series.

This gathering may not have been able to be a reality months ago as after a taxing 118-day strike, the Screen Actors Guild honored the best performers in film and television at the gala. 

Winners were determined by SAG-AFTRA members, who vote for their favorites across a number of categories.

The awards come just months after SAG-AFTRA struck a deal with film studios following a months-long strike with pay in the streaming era and artificial intelligence top issues of concern.   

The strike began on July 25, 2023 and a tentative deal was struck on November 8. It formally ended on December 5, 2023 with a 78% yes in voting. 

Despite disagreements over the final deal, the outcome was a huge relief for union leaders and the entertainment industry following a grueling few months of strikes.

The boycott coincided with the WGA strike, which lasted from May 2 to September 27.
