American parents have branded Peppa Pig a 'brat' and have become furious about the well-known British cartoon that they say has taught their children 'rudeness and impatience.'

Parents also reported their kids have become so obsessed with the cheeky cartoon they have adopted British accents and mannerisms.

Kayla Tychen, a mother from Houston, said: 'Peppa is rude and impatient, and the show teaches kids that this is who she is and that it’s OK.'

Another mother, Armita Asgari, 41, told The Wall Street Journal that 'Peppa is a brat' after she noticed a change in the way her five-year-old son Luca acts compared to a few months ago.

The mother recalled that her son approached their neighbor and said: 'Look, David's got a big Tummy!'

'That was when I realized he had picked up all these behaviors from Peppa Pig.'

Asgari also noticed that when it came to Luca trying new foods, he would respond: 'Ew! Yuck!' When he became annoyed his mother said that he would yell 'You're not my friend anymore!'

The popular cartoon which was first released in 2004,  is about a pig named Peppa, a preschooler who lives with her mom, dad and brother.

The show has grown so massive that it has gone on to franchise clothing, toys and even been featured at theme parks.

According to Parrot Analytics, in 2022, the empire made $1.7billion in retail sales and in 2023, Peppa was the fourth most 'in-demand' children's series worldwide- after Masha the Bear, SpongeBob SquarePants and Paw Patrol.

Parents have reported their children have started to use words and accents like Peppa, as some American kids have been heard saying petrol stations and referring to cookies as 'biscuits.'

Asgari said she was drawn to the series because it had short, five-minute episodes and simple plot lines, but the mother soon realized that Peppa would often become snappy with her parents and talk back.

In one episode called 'Peppa Pig's Secret Word for Her Tree House: Daddy's Big Belly,' Peppa is seen in her tree house along with her brother George.

Their parents soon knock on the door as Peppa said: 'Say the secret word!'

'Daddy's big tummy,' her mother responded.

The piglet then opened the door and said: 'That's right! Daddy's big tummy!'

The sibling then started to laugh as their father grabbed his belly and said: 'I think those are silly secret words,' as everyone in the family laughs at him.

Brittany, an Australian mother, recently described to DailyMail.com how she has decided to ban the cartoon in her home because she felt that the characters were 'rude and stupid' with 'poor values.'

Another commenter suggested that parents show their children Bluey instead of Peppa and said that he is a better role model

Another commenter suggested that parents show their children Bluey instead of Peppa and said that he is a better role model

'Children are impressionable, always copying what they see and hear,' Brittany said in a post.

'Aside from Peppa's attitude, the characters are caricatures: a perceptively unintelligent mother and a useless father (who gets picked on for his size).'

She added that Peppa is 'deceptive' and that the show is not as 'lightweight' as people might think.

Brittany started to notice that her son PJ started to change the way he played as he 'had a change of attitude and his imaginative play became aggressive and rude.'

Other parents have said Peppa Pig is not a good role model and that the show reinforces gender stereotypes.

In another episode, the father pig became discouraged when his shirt was dyed pink in the wash and said pink 'isn't a good color for a football shirt.'

Peppa is also frequently seen in her tree house, telling her baby brother that no boys are allowed inside.

Another mother, Ayesha Khaliq, said  the show is not a good fit for millennial parents who have tried to raise 'socially sensitive kids.'

'Peppa acts the way any child might act but she isn’t taught that it’s unkind. The mom should jump in and say, "Now hang on, it’s rude to hang up on your friend",' Khaliq said.

Others have reacted to the cartoon's commentary online as one person said: 'Don't let her watch Peppa Pig. Peppa talks back to parents. Bluie is socialist.'

Another said: 'Please consider replacing Peppa Pic with bluey. Much better role modeling for kids and parents alike!'

Hasboro, the company that owns Peppa Pig said that they know of the backlash that the show has gotten and they they have tried to 'evolve' the series and have Daddy Pig transform into a 'fantastic father.'

Esra Cafer, Hasbro’s senior vice president, said: 'Peppa has natural, authentic reactions to the world, and has the ability to express how she feels.'

'Some parents may see it as too direct or rude. We see it as self-assertive and self-confident.'

Bluey, a popular Australian animated series, has also been a fan favorite of children across of the world.

In recent news, the hit series came in second place as the most streamed show with 43.9billion minutes viewed is streamed on Disney+ and 145 episodes.

With all of its controversy, Peppa Pig has still managed to be high in audience demand, compared to other TV series, according to Parrot Analytics

Other parents have gone on to show their support for the cartoon as Lauran Betensky, a mother from Long Island, told The Wall Street Journal her three-year-old daughter Klara adores the show.

'She’s a little piggy that knows what she wants. That’s a good quality for a little girl,' Betensky said.

A father, Taylor Ellsworth said that he liked to watch the show with his five children, and said that the way the series displays 'innate human reactions to things' is 'very valuable for kids.'
