A female teacher allegedly groped and forcibly kissed a teenage male pupil while working as his music teacher at school, a court has been told.

Emma Ginger is accused of touching the 15-year-old boy twice while making an 'inappropriate' appearance at a sixth form party in July 2021.

The prosecution claims that the 36-year-old became 'huggy and touchy' after getting drunk, before physically touching the teen and telling him she would 'lose her job' for what she was doing.

Aylesbury Crown Court heard on Monday that the teacher, who denies two charges of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, had also spoken to students about her sex life.

This included her allegedly claiming that she had slept with more than 100 people at university and telling a student on another occasion that she had performed a sex act on her husband the night before.

Prosecutor Julian Lynch told jurors on Monday that Ginger had been taught the boy 'for a while' and had a reputation for being a 'fun teacher'.

He said: 'Over time Mrs Ginger would blur the appropriate boundaries. She would go to parties with students outside of school hours and said the boy looked attractive or smelled nice.'

The jury was told that Ginger attended a party with sixth-formers on the evening of July 17, 2021. Mr Lynch described how the defendant's behaviour had deteriorated during the party, as she became increasingly drunk.

'Mrs Ginger became 'huggy' and touchy which was an inappropriate way for a teacher to behave,' said the prosecutor.

'She started to quiz the boy and asked if he had feelings for her and asked whether he thought she was good looking.

'The Crown says she was attracted to this 15-year-old pupil.

'Mrs Ginger continued physical attempts to flirt with the boy and put her arm around his waist repeatedly.'

Mr Lynch described how the defendant had sat next to the boy at the party and began the touching.

'She asked again if the boy was attracted to her. She told the boy that she would lose her job for what she was doing.'

He claimed the teacher then rubbed her hands on the boy's body over his clothes, including in his private region.

Mr Lynch said: 'The boy describes going into shock. Mrs Ginger whispered in his ear that he wanted what was going on.'

The victim gave a police interview after he made the complaint about Ginger's conduct, the jury heard.

A video of the interview was played for the jury, in which the 15-year-old told officers: 'Mrs Ginger kept saying she was going to lose her job for what she was doing.'

He said she had been 'moving her hands around, squeezing' his body over his clothes.

He told officers: 'I went into shock. I couldn't move and I didn't know what to do. I was scared and felt sick.'

The court heard that the defendant then pushed the boy's face into hers and kissed him on the lips - trying to force her tongue into his mouth.

The boy described the aftermath of the incident, saying that in the days after the defendant had said she was 'black-out drunk' and didn't know what she was doing.

'She was trying to guilt trip me,' the alleged victim said.

'She had had a lot of personal problems. She said it was my fault that I wasn't there to make sure she was okay.'

The court heard that on another occasion Ginger had told the boy she had performed a sex act on her husband a day earlier and had slept with over 100 people at university.

In cross-examination by the defence barrister James McCrindell, the boy admitted drinking alcohol at the party, where beer, cider and vodka were available.

However, he said that he did not drink to the point of misremembering anything about the offences.

Speaking via a video link, the boy said: 'I don't really drink to the point where I don't remember anything. I know my own limit.

'At the party, yes I've had alcohol. But in such a serious situation I snapped myself back into the reality of what she was doing.

'I'm not going to drink to the point where I would throw up, pass out or not remember anything.'

The boy told Mr McCrindell that he had drunk around half a bottle of wine during the immediate aftermath of the alleged incident.

The boy told the court that he was a 'bit drunk' but remembered everything from the evening.

Mr McCrindell asked him if the evening was a 'blur.'

The boy said: 'Not really, I remember most of the evening - of what happened.

'I remembered the actual physical incidents.'

Mr McCrindell said: 'When it comes to your drinking, what you've done is you've minimised the extent to which you were drunk. What do you say to that?

The teen said: 'I'm not, I remember the specific drunk state I was in because I remember what happened.'

The court heard from the boy that a friend who was at the party would have seen the offences take place.

Mr McCrindell put to the him that it had been a fun party and nothing had happened.

The boy replied: 'It wasn't exactly very fun. I don't want to relive that party ever again.'

The jury heard that on another occasion the music teacher told the victim of her miscarriage and said that he hadn't been there to support her in the days after.

The jury also heard that the defendant told the boy that she lost her virginity at the age of 14 years.

Mr McCrindell asked the boy if the 'positive' comments he received from Ginger would have been received by other students.

The boy said that this was most likely, but added: 'For a teacher to compliment on how someone smells is not exactly up to standards.'

The trial is set to continue in the same court on Tuesday.
