Versatile stage and screen actress Lynda Gravatt has died at the age of 77, her family shared on Wednesday.
The actress was best known for her roles on Broadway in such productions as The Old Settler, Crowns, Intimate Apparel, Miss Witherspoon, The Little Foxes and The House That Will Not Stand.
The New Yorker was also the under study for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof in 2008.
And Lynda also starred on several TV shows over the decades.
Gravatt had a guest starring roles on Sex And The City opposite Sarah Jessica Parker (she played a waiter in 2002 episode) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Judge Tamara Kingston alongside Mariska Hargitay.
The actress, who was recently on the series East New York, was regular on The Hoop Life from 1999 until 2000.

The Harlem-born thespian played a judge in the Jennifer Aniston movie The Bounty Hunter in 2010.
And she played Vernita Wells in the Denzel Washington movie Roman J. Israel, Esq in 2017.
Her son David Gravatt told The Hollywood Reporter that she died last Friday in a New Brunswick, New Jersey hospital.

Her death was confirmed by the National Black Theatre in an Instagram post shared on Saturday.
'If I'm employed, I'm happy,' she told Backstage in a 2019 interview. 'I always wanted to be the ingénue, but I'm usually cast as the pragmatic grandmother, even when I was young.'

She had a famous birth father: tap dancer and comedian James 'Stump' Cross.
The star was raised by adopted parents.
Her career began at the age of four when she had a part in The King And I on Broadway.
And the tot performed in recitals at Carnegie Hall when she was 9.
Gravatt attended Howard University where she graduated in 1971. During her time on campus she appeared in several plays.
