Adorable pictures show a sheep helping a horse through dental trauma after they  travelled away from home for treatment.

Black sheep Hetty is pictured nestling herself underneath Jojo the shire horse's giant frame as the pair snuggle up together in stables, after Jojo needed to leave the family farm in Anglesey farm to go for an hour's dental treatment in Bangor.

Their owners say they have become inseparable and could not be pulled apart when 19-year-old Jojo needed to travel for an hour's dental treatment in North Wales.

Owner Susan Ray, 61, said: 'Hetty wouldn't leave Jojo. As we were loading Jojo for the trip, she was straight up the ramp into the horsebox.

'It was as if she was trying to say: "no, Jojo isn't going on her own".'

When they arrived at the North Wales Equine Dental Practice in Bangor, Hetty stayed with Jojo, even though there were no gates or fences in place to stop her running around the building.

Vet Andy Peffers, said: 'This was a new thing for us. I've been a vet 28 years and never seen a horse and sheep so bonded.

'The two are inseparable and Hetty travelled to the clinic by standing between Jojo's legs under her belly.

'Then when Jojo was being treated in the stocks, Hetty also came in and stood for the whole hour of treatment under Jojo's legs.

'It really was beautiful to see their relationship.'

Susan said the pair have been best friends for around a year when Hetty was brought to the farm after Jojo's mother died.

She said: 'They are inseparable. They play together, they run round the field together - we joke that Hetty bounces around like the cartoon character Pepe Le Pew.'
