Jayson Boebert has broken his silence to voice his 'unconditional love' and support for his children following Tuesday's arrest of Tyler, 18, his oldest son with congresswoman Lauren Boebert.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Jayson, 42, gave a raw and heartfelt response to the news that broke Wednesday morning.

He acknowledged that, at times, he may have failed as a father but said that he is committed to always improving. He expressed his 'unwavering' belief in all his children – and he shared his faith in Tyler's future.

He said, 'I know my son is a good-hearted child and still has his whole life ahead of him.'

Tyler was arrested Tuesday and held overnight in Colorado's Garfield County Jail.

He has been charged on 22 counts relating to a string of vehicle break-ins and property theft. His most serious charges are four felony counts for criminal possession of an ID and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Other charges include three of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On Wednesday, Jayson focused on his family, saying, 'My love for my children is unconditional and I vow to stand by them unwaveringly through all of life's challenges.

'Ensuring that I am there for my children regardless of the circumstances is a value I hold dear as a parent.'

For his part, Jayson said, 'I hope to continuously evolve and refine my parenting skills. I have made a commitment to provide the best possible support and guidance to my children.

'Even though I may feel like I have failed at times I will continue to keep improving.'

This is not Tyler's first run in with the law – though it is his most serious.

Back in April a friend alleged that he had been injured because of Tyler driving 'so f***king fast' that he flipped the vehicle in which they were both traveling.

Noble D'Amato, 19, accused the Boebert family of 'covering up' the incident from which Tyler walked with a simple careless driving ticket which was later dropped to a 'defective vehicle for headlights' ticket. The teen also had to go to court-ordered driving school.

It has been a tumultuous few months for the Boeberts.

Lauren, 37, and Jayson welcomed their first grandchild with the birth of Tyler's child with his girlfriend last April.

The very same month the congresswoman filed for divorce and the couple's 16-year marriage officially ended with a final court hearing last September.

At the time Jayson spoke of his own sense of failure, standing up for his ex-wife in the face of public criticism and blaming himself in a Facebook post in which he claimed that he was the 'root' of the split that he described as 'devastating.'

Now, Jayson has exclusively told DailyMail.com how, in the months since the split, he has channeled his energies into being the best father he can to the couple's four sons – Tyler, Brody, 17, Kaydon, 13 and Roman, 10.

He does not, he admitted, always get it right.

He said, 'Being a father in today's challenging world can be a heavy task. With the constant bombardment of information and influences from all angles, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the best way to guide your children.'

He pointed to the 'challenges' of the past few years that the country has faced, such as Covid shutdowns that saw raised levels of depression in young people.

He said, 'Despite our best efforts we will fall short sometimes.'

Boebert's job as a consultant for an energy firm takes him away from the family home for weeks at a time.

According to Jayson, 'As a parent balancing work, family and personal life while striving to be a good role model for your kids can be incredibly demanding.

'Moreover, the spotlight of today's media can magnify and distort even the smallest aspects of your life.'

Both Jayson and Lauren have found themselves at the heart of media storms in the past six months.

In January, Jayson was charged with two counts of assault following an altercation with his ex-wife in a restaurant in their hometown of Rifle which saw him call police and an incident with Tyler that spiraled out of control.

Meanwhile Lauren faced public humiliation when surveillance footage emerged of and her new man, Aspen bar-owner Quinn Gallagher, 46, behaving in a way that saw them both thrown out of a theater in Denver.

At one point Lauren had her hand in Gallagher's lap while he fondled her breasts. At other times the pair were talking loudly and singing along to the production of Beetlejuice despite other patrons' repeated requests for them to keep it down.

It is, according to Jayson, impossible for any family to remain impervious to the maelstrom of publicity in which his must so often function.

He said, 'It's disheartening to see your actions or words misrepresented and sensationalized, painting a false picture for the public. These distortions do not only create tension within your family but also affect your reputation and relationships outside of the home.'

There is, he admitted, no road map but, he said, 'As a father navigating this complex landscape it is crucial to stay true to your values, communicate openly with your loved ones and remember that perfection is unattainable.'

For Jayson, no matter what challenges lie ahead, 'Striving for honest and genuine connections with your children and keeping them on the right path despite the challenges and external pressures, is what truly matters in the end.'
