Another young migrant boy clutched a ripped up scrap of paper with a Texas ZIP code scribbled on it.
The arrival of the unaccompanied children comes after a 62-page-report by the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services sound that 'Children who arrive in the United States unaccompanied are especially vulnerable to exploitation.'
More and more unaccompanied children are crossing the border as time goes on, with 128,904 minors crossed the border alone in the 2022 fiscal year - up from 122,731 the year before.
Most of the children traveled from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico, agency statistics show.
