The wife of a Florida police officer is spending time between two hospitals, as her husband fights for his life after a second heart attack and her newborn daughter stays in an NICU.

Robert Wright, 36, is a detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department.

Wright suffered a heart attack on December 7 and then suffered another in early February, leaving him in a forced coma.

His wife Heather was admitted to a different hospital at the same time because her condition needed to be monitored at 28 weeks after what a friend called a 'challenging' pregnancy.

Robert Wright woke up from the coma on February 13, but wife Heather had to have an emergency C-section the next day, as their daughter Raelynn was born weighing just one pound.

She is scheduled to spend the next ten weeks in an NICU under observations.

Heather Wright is going back and forth between hospitals to care for both, as Robert remains hospitalized.

He's currently using a heart pump to keep blood flow going and letting his heart rest, according to WAFB

Heather - who met Robert in high school - is maintaining a positive attitude, saying: 'Cherish your family, love your family, you never know what could happen at any moment.'

Friends and family have launched a GoFundMe, attempting to raise $50,000 to get the family back on its feet.

It was there that Heather provided an update on her husband and daughter's health, with good news for both.

'Raelynn is doing great in the NICU, no oxygen needed and feedings are going well,' she wrote.

'Rob is out of ICU and will hopefully be discharged this week. We have a lot of recovery ahead but thankful for them both.'

Heather did clarify that Robert is getting workers' compensation, but the family will need a lot more to recuperate.

The GoFundMe claims that Robert and Heather, a real estate agent, 'have spent most of their adult lives protecting and caring for those around them, including family, friends and even complete strangers.'

Robert Wright is staying at Tampa General Hospital and has yet to meet his newborn daughter.
