A 21-year-old man was shot dead and six others left injured in Orlando last night following a confrontation between two parties.
Police responded to reports of shots fired around 11pm Wednesday in the area of Ironwedge Drive and South Lake Orlando Parkway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered seven people had been shot, including James Jerry Dawn William III, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six others were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. They are all currently in stable condition and are expected to survive.
The Orlando Police Department said the shooting came after an altercation earlier Wednesday afternoon. Officers are still investigating the roles of those injured and working to identifying the suspects.
Detectives remain in the area, as there is still an active crime scene, but said they believe the shooting was an 'isolated and targeted incident'.

The shooting took place in a residential area near what appears to be a condominium complex.
Police said the incident began with a confrontation between two parties at approximately 3pm Wednesday.
Officers were called to the area in response to an alleged assault with weapons, but when they arrived on scene it was reported that a disagreement had occurred.
The parties were allegedly fighting over a vehicle having not been returned by a mutually agreed-upon date.
One individual involved wanted another party to be prosecuted over the alleged assault, but the suspected assailant was unable to be found.
Officials with Orlando's Crime Scene Investigation unit were also called to the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed the total number of victims or the extent of their injuries
Police did issue a trespass warning for one of the individuals involved in the alleged disagreement.
Detectives suspect that one of the parties are involved in the shooting incident that occurred later in the evening.
A police spokesperson told DailyMail.com: 'This is still an active crime scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives have remained on scene and will continue to do so. We are still in the process of sorting out the roles of those injured and identifying the suspects.
'We do know there was an exchange of gunfire between two groups and OPD has developed and are working leads in this case. We do believe this is an isolated and targeted incident.'
