Gen Z may have declared skinny-leg jeans a relic; but Tommy Hilfiger thinks baggy jeans have no place on a woman's body.
The fashion guru admitted he prefers a fitted pant on a woman, sharing his distaste for loose-fitting denim at a luncheon in Palm Beach, Florida.
'I think they look terrible on women,' Hilfiger, 72, told Page Six.
'I want to see something form-fitting on a women’s frame,' the famous designer continued. 'It should be more fit and feminine or little bit tighter in the hips.'

Hilfiger, who is known for his preppy designs, told the publication he enjoys the Florida town's colorful fashion - noting it's a stark change from New York's fashion scene.
'In New York we like to wear black,' he explained. 'My clothes actually sell better in Florida, California, Texas places like that. A lot of tourists are buying my clothes in New York and they take them back from wherever they come in from.'
While Hilfiger doesn't think baggy jeans look good on women, the clothing brand does in fact sell a pair of 'trouser-inspired drape of our denim pants' for $230.
Tommy Hilfiger sells several styles of denim on their website, with skinny leg jeans retail between $79.50 - $119 on the website.
Furious fashion-lovers took to X, formally known as Twitter, to express their anger over his denim opinions.
'How dare you to say that women look terrible in baggy jeans who the f**k asked for your opinion,' one user raged. 'You look like a Muppet, wearing a blue velour suit, you look ridiculous! Can we say dumb and dumber?'
'I hate seeing women exposing their a**, women's fashion has always been designed to appeal to a man, that's disgusting and it makes me uncomfortable. Maybe more men with formfitting pants need to walk around him and let's see what he says.
He has been out the loop for a long time.
'Well I hate men in velvet jackets,' joked another.

The difference between generation's denim preference has been well documented on social media, with Gen Z's condemning tight fitting jeans.
While skinny jeans reigned supreme during the 2000s and 2010s, the fad seemed like it was coming to an end in recent years, with Medium theorizing that 'Gen Z was going to cancel' them once and for all.
However, in 2023, Levi's CEO Charles 'Chip' V. Bergh shared the company's biggest sellers, revealing that skinny jeans still reigned on top, despite previous reports that they were declining in popularity.
Hilfiger sparked controversy after body-shaming Gigi Hadid
It's not the first time Hilfiger has sparked controversary over his fashion opinions.
In 2015, a then 20-year-old Gigi Hadid made her big break walking in the Tommy Hilfiger autumn/winter show during New York Fashion Week.
Hadid strutted on the runway wearing a poncho in red, white and blue - however Hilfiger later revealed that choice was less about fashion and more Hadid's body shape; saying casting agents thought she wasn't thin enough
Speaking to Yahoo, Hilfiger said: 'Our casting director said, "She doesn't really fit because, you know, she's not quite as tall as the other girls, she's not quite as thin." So they put a red, white and blue poncho on her.'
The model later spoke to Access Hollywood, defending the designer, saying: 'The point of that story was that Tommy was rooting for me and that above all, regardless of what the stylist for that season said or what he put me in.
'Tommy wanted me in the show and Tommy was pushing for me and Tommy loved my curves,' she hit back.
'The next season I wore a bikini on the same runway, with the same stylist that had previously put me in a poncho.'
