Police in Arizona have warned that 'timing is crucial' as they try to find a young woman brutally bundled back into a car she was trying to escape from.

A horrified onlooker called police after seeing the woman trying to run from the Nissan SUV as it pulled into a gas station before being chased and caught by its heavily built male driver who dragged her back to the car.

Other customers seemed oblivious as the man shoved her in and slammed the door before driving off at high speed from the Circle K in Buckeye.

Unfortunately we know nothing about these two subjects,' Sergeant Tamela Skaggs of the Buckeye Police Department admitted.

'That video is extremely concerning to us, and that video is what we have.'

It was just after 10pm on Friday that the grey Nissan Rogue pulled up to a pump at the gas station near Interstate 10 and Watson Road.

Both doors swung open at the same time and the woman in the passenger seat began walking at pace towards the convenience store, clutching her hands together.

The man immediately chases her, and she has only got a few steps before he grabs her around the neck, bends her over backwards, and hauls her back to the car with her feet dragging on the ground.

It takes him ten seconds to force her into the vehicle before he violently slams to the door and marches around to the driver's side, getting in and immediately accelerating back onto the street.

Hundreds of people have commented since police posted the grainy footage to their Facebook page with many demanding to know why other customers did not intervene.

'I get it it's scary these days to get involved but something like that how could you not,' wrote Valerie Evora.

'How did no one around not see this or try to get out and try to stop him,' added Laura LM, 'I am sure that is what she was thinking.'

Others were frustrated by the poor quality of the images.

'I wonder if they stopped at another gas station since they weren't able to fill up at that one and hopefully they have better camera footage at a nearby gas station,' wrote Katelyn Yohe.

'The pumps have cameras too,' pointed out Evora.

'Did you guys see she didn't bolt out of the SUV she walked like 2-3 steps then attempted to run?' observed Adilene Diaz, 'Maybe a domestic violence victim.'

'I was thinking she was trying to sneak away and he caught on so she started to run,' added Lisa Chapman.

'Either way, someone knows who he is.'

Police say the Nissan, thought to be a 2021 to 2023 model, fled from the gas station north on Watson heading toward I-10.

'That video is extremely concerning to us and we understand that it will be concerning to the viewers who are watching it,' Sgt Skaggs told Fox10.

'So that's why we're asking for information from the pubic to identify these two subjects and see if this woman is ok.

'The timing in this investigation is crucial. There's too many unknowns.'
