An American food and drink reviewer reviewed a much-loved traditional British drink - and said he loved it.
Kalani Smith, 25, paid a visit to Brits R Us in Massachusetts to pick up a rare can of dandelion and burdock before giving a verdict to millions of followers on his TikTok account - Kalani Ghost Hunter.
Dandelion and burdock has been commonly consumed in the UK since the middle ages, and is a carbonated, herbal flavour with hints of aniseed.
Its specific origin is unknown but one false story regarding is that it was first brewed by 13th century theologian St Thomas Aquinas.
Back in the present day, Kalani said: 'I can definitely see that it's an acquired taste but I like root beer and sarsparilla [and] this is very similar to that.'
U.S. food and drink reviewer, Kalani Smith, has boldly offered his opinion on dandelion and burdock, one of the UK's most historic soft drinks, saying: 'I can definitely see that it's an acquired taste but I like root beer and sarsparilla [and] this is very similar to that'
Dandelion and burdock has been commonly consumed on the British Isles since the middle ages, and is a carbonated, herbal flavour with hints of aniseed
The review inspired many of the 25-year-old's followers to reminisce about the oft-forgotten beverage
Having avoided potential offence with that review, giving the drink an eight out of 10, Kalani did stick his neck out and admit that 'I don't rate it higher than Irn-Bru'.
And there was a lot of love for the drink in the comments, with another TikTok user adding: 'I haven't had one of those in years!
'This makes me want to get one! I agree though [sic], definitely an acquired taste.'
Others said that the drink was 'top tier' and 'my favourite'.
Many more were recalling the combination of a dandelion and burdock with fish and chips.
The slight acidity of the fizzy pop's herbal flavour is seen as a good accompaniment to rich, oily fish, rather than too sweet a soda.
The drink is also marketed for its relative health benefits when compared to alternative pop.
Dandelion is a rich source of vitamins A and C as well as containing iron and zinc. The plant has been a traditional remedy for anemia, skin problems and blood disorders.
However, while dandelion and burdock root infusions are typically part of a Dandelion and Burdock recipe, they are not the only flavouring.
Other common ingredients include concentrated fruit juice, caramel and other sweeteners.
