A woman was allegedly raped four times by a masseur during a spa session at the legendary Ritz hotel in Paris.

The young woman, who has not been officially named, said in a complaint that she attacked by the masseur on January 6 after booking a massage session at the spa inside the five-star hotel.

French media reported that after massaging the 26-year-old's chest for a long time, the masseur raped her four times while she was lying on her back.

The woman reportedly tried to push his hand away when he tried to touch her, and she quickly left the hotel before telling her family about the incident.

She told the Paris public prosecutor's office a few days after the alleged incident.

A judicial source told local media: 'The Paris public prosecutor's office has been informed of this complaint. The preliminary investigations into the charge of rape were entrusted to the 1st judicial police district.'

The hotel's management team told BFM that the masseur no longer worked at the spa of the five-star hotel.

The hotel was founded in 1898, and sits in Paris' first arrondissement, along with several royal palaces, gardens and galleries including the Louvre.

The hotel, founded by César Ritz who also founded the Ritz in London, is a stone's throw away from the building housing France's Ministry of Justice.

It has hosted celebrities, politicians and even royalty during its 125-year-history.

The hotel was the final place that Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed stayed in before they died in 1997.

Dodi's father Mohamed bought the hotel in 1979 for $20 million, around £67 million in today's money.

MailOnline has contacted the Ritz's management for comment.
