Staffers in Donald Trump's White House were consistently supplied with controlled substances such a speed and Xanax, often dosing the latter with alcohol, as they struggled to keep up with the ex-president's volatile and demanding nature.

In a shocking report published by Rolling Stone, the White House's medical unit is described as being 'like the Wild West' where staffers would simply go and name the drugs they needed.

'You try working for him and not chasing pills with alcohol,' an unnamed source told the magazine.

In another section, the White House is said to have been 'awash with speed.'

The Rolling Stone report takes it further, alleging that 'staffers had easy access to powerful stimulants and sedatives.' Trump nor his campaign have commented on the report.

Speed was also given to staffers under the brand name Provigil, Rolling Stone alleges

The article alleges that speed was 'routinely given to staffers who needed an energy boost after a late night, or just a pick-me-up to handle another day at a uniquely stressful job.'

Speed was also given to staff who worked on Trump speeches, those who worked in foreign policy, those studying Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and those who dealt with the media.

The speed was handed out in the form of Modafinil under its brand name Provigil. Adderall, fentanyl, morphine, and ketamine, were also mentioned in a January Department of Defense report on prescription drugs in the White House.

Xanax was also prevalent, according to the Rolling Stone report, however the drug was not mentioned in the DOD's report.

Two employees said that they acquired Xanax from the medical unit and in turn share it with colleagues.

The drug was also mixed with alcohol.

Pharmacists in the White House were also reportedly living in fear that they would be fired if they didn't not supply demands.

Therapy sessions were also discouraged as one staffer said they were told they shouldn't say something that could be used against them.

Another incident described by Rolling Stone saw former White House physician-turned Congressman Ronny Jackson going through Air Force One and taking drug orders from staffers as a nurse took notes.

Jackson reacted angrily to the article.

'Rolling Stone is nothing but a liberal rag used as a propaganda tool for the far left zealots. They never get tired of lying! They just published another garbage hit piece directed at the Trump administration and based on "anonymous" sources.'

'Pathetic!! Stop lying and name your sources! MORONS!!,' the representative for Texas' 13th congressional district wrote.

Trump's former press secretary Stephanie Grisham once spoke of the grueling nature of overseas trips.

'I think any White House staff knows that overseas trips are very grueling.'

'For us, you’d be on a flight with a president who never sleeps, and then you hit the ground running in a foreign country, and you have to be alert and ready for the president and other foreign leaders,' she said.
