Brands and influencers organize giveaways on social media as a way to increase engagement and gain new followers.
However, for whatever reason, tagging people in a post in an attempt to win free merchandise is often viewed as cringeworthy.
'I have plenty of friends, but only a few that I would dare tag in a giveaway,' she insisted. 'That's true friendship.'
Shircel had the epiphany inside her car, where she filmed herself drinking an iced coffee in a hooded sweatshirt.
She ended the 15-second clip by taking a sip from her straw.
'Why is it so embarrassing… but like it's not???' she asked in the caption.
Shircel's video has been viewed 1.1 million times and has received more than 2,500 comments since it was posted on January 24.
Many agreed with her, saying this is 'so real' and something they're not comfortable doing with most people.

'OMG this is really real,' one person wrote.
'LOL like [for real] why is it so embarrassing though?' someone else asked. 'I will only tag my husband and my sister.'
'My oldest sister (who I see as way cooler than me) tags me in giveaways and I immediately feel better than her,' another admitted.
Others didn't understand why tagging someone in a giveaway post would be a big deal regardless of your friendship status.
'I'm unashamed. I'll tag people I've not talked to in weeks,' one viewer responded.
'I think I'm officially old [because] I legit don't even know what she means,' another commented.
'If you were one of 60 I tagged in *that* giveaway… thank you,' someone else joked.
Some people also noted that they 'feel honored' when they're tagged in a giveaway.
'No same,' Shircel agreed. 'Like okay you trust me.'
