A Florida man has been accused of smuggling cocaine and luring endangered deer into a home he was working on before watching Fox News with the animals.

Thomas Geatal Scancarelli, 61, of Big Pine Key, Florida was arrested Monday just before 5pm on two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Scancarelli, who was already on probation for convictions of cocaine trafficking, was previously arrested by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) last Tuesday for feeding an endangered species of Key deer by hand.

Becky Herrin, a spokesperson from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, told local ABC affiliate WPLG that FWC officers noticed 'two rifles and an AR-15-style weapon mounted on the wall,' and alerted deputies immediately.

'They said they believed Scancarelli to be a convicted felon who should not have had those weapons in the house where he was staying,' said Herrin.

Jail records showed that Scancarelli was carrying out the felonies at a home that did not belong to him on the 2000 block of Coral Way.

'Scancarelli did not have permission to stay in the home and was just supposed to be there painting it,' the homeowner confirmed with WPLG.

During his stay, Scancarelli posted photos and videos of himself on Facebook illegally luring four deer into the home and hand feeding them.

The animals were seen noshing on carrots and other bits of food that Scancarelli had left for them on a wooden stool in the middle of the living room.

In another section of the clip, a hungry deer was seen licking its lips next to a knife that the man had used to chop up the treats he'd used to lure them into the home.

Herrin said he was also charged with two different felonies 'due to his being in control of the firearms for the lengthy period of time he stayed there.'

The felon also posted a video of him and one of the deer enjoying the Ingraham Angle on Fox News last Wednesday.

The Florida man's deer obsessions dates all the way back to November - as Scancarelli has posted dozens of other videos of him feeding and petting the endangered animals.

Authorities said Scancarelli seemed to be aware that what he was doing was a crime.

On their website, the FWC warns against feeding wild animals as it 'lessens fear of humans.'

'Key deer can be found foraging in yards and on roadsides, where they approach people and slow-moving vehicles for handouts,' FWC told WPLG.

'Getting hit by vehicles is now the primary cause of Key deer mortality. Illegal feeding also causes a concentration of Key deer populations, facilitating the spread of parasites and disease.'

Scancarelli is being held without bond in the local county jail.
