Oscar Mayer has launched a very surprising new version of its iconic hot dogs: a meatless wiener.
The brand announced the release of its first-ever plant-based dog today - revealing it will also be launching two flavors of meat-free sausage: Bratwurst and Italian.
Sharing the news on its social media accounts, the popular meat producer wrote: 'Introducing Oscar Mayer NotHotDogs and NotSausages, Oscar Mayer’s first-ever plant-based offering and the first plant-based meat innovation to come out of The Kraft Heinz Not Company.'
Ahead of the summer season, the brand explained that it has worked hard to ensure that the meatless versions of their sausages and hot dogs offer the same 'savory taste and thick, juicy bite' as its original offerings, adding that the plant-based alternatives 'grill beautifully, boasting a classic meaty color and great grill marks'.
