Pamela Anderson, 56, continues to go make-up free in striking editorial shoot - as it's revealed she WON'T appear in Baywatch reboot

Pamela Anderson showed off her beauty and toned frame as she went make-up free for a new shoot with CR Fashion Book this week.

The Baywatch icon, 56, who has adopted a pared-back image of late, showed off her radiant visage as she posed in a sheer body stocking, before modelling a gold studded version.

She showed off her fashion flair in a black gown adorned with a kooky red fish skeleton sculpture, before donning an oversize black hat.

Her tresses were styled in soft waves and she sported a touch of white mascara and lipbalm for the shoot - as she waxed lyrical about 'flipping the script' on beauty standards by changing her image.

She said: 'I was doing it for the girls. I just think, the social media world and the fantasy, especially in fashion and film, those places are escapism, but this everyday stuff… I felt like It's okay to just be.

'And I just didn’t want to get into the whole glam thing and play the game. I just want to flip the script; I want to challenge beauty. But my agents and even my kids were like, “Mom, you can’t, you need the glam team!

'And I said, no, what are you talking about? The fact that you guys are saying that to me makes me not want to do it more! I’m going to do a fresh face, no makeup, not pretend no-makeup. And I just felt free. No one looked at me and went, “Aggghhhh! "

The interview comes as it was revealed Pamela will not return to the reboot of the show that made her famous - Baywatch.

Sources told TMZ producers on the reboot have not approached Pamela - who played CJ Parker - or her team about a role in the Fox series, but even if they did, she would say no. 

They added that Pamela's Baywatch days 'are over', there is no animosity but the 'show is just part of her past and she has no interest in going back down that road.'

Fox has landed a reboot of the highly-popular series as the network has closed on a deal with Freemantle according to Variety on Monday.

The series originally starred David Hasselhoff, now 71, from 1989 to 1999 before being retooled as Baywatch Hawaii from 1999 to 2001 which starred Jason Momoa. 

He also starred in spinoff series Baywatch Nights which aired from 1995 to 1997.

Anderson led the red swimsuit brigade which included actresses like Yasmine Bleeth, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Parker Stevenson, Erika Eleniak, in addition to several others.

The original series took place at a Los Angeles beach where a team of lifeguards led by Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon (Hasselhoff) save lives, deal with personal dramas, fight crime and participate in over the top adventures on a daily basis. 

It was created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann as it was inspired by Bonann's time as an LA County lifeguard.

The four will serve as executive producers on the upcoming hour-long drama.

The original series was pitched by Bonann and was passed on by CBS and later the pilot Baywatch: Panic At The Malibu Pier was sold to NBC and aired as a TV movie and was so successful that it was picked up for a 12-episode season. 

Lara Olsen has been tapped by Fox and Freemantle as the showrunner for the new series according to Variety.

Highly-popular 1990s beach drama Baywatch is set to return - but Pamela will not be a part of it ; the cast is seen in 1995

The synopsis for the revamped Baywatch reads: 'Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches, and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find.'

The original series was a worldwide phenomenon as it aired in more than 145 countries at one point which is more than any other TV show.

CR Fashion Book Issue 24 Audacious will be available on newsstands on March 29.
