A top executive at a government agency has been placed on paid leave after being accused of referring to white people as 'snow roaches' on social media.

James Reeves, the CIO and Director of IT Operations at the United States Agency for Global Media, is alleged to have made the remarks on a X account.

The posts, uncovered by Conservative account 'End Wokeness', claim that Reeves posted comments belittling white people, referring to them as 'snow roaches'.

The account wrote 'cry about it, snow roaches', and another meme said 'keep the immigrants, deport the racists'.

The Agency for Global Media confirmed to the National Review that Reeves had been placed on administrative leave while they investigated the claims.

In the bio for the account, it states: 'Native Washingtonian, Proud Father, Rider, IT whisperer, Just Another Devastating', alongside a BLM and Free Palestine hashtag.

'Like the other snow roaches, resort to racist tropes when you can't construct a logical argument. Clearly uneducated. Stat triggered.'

Another said: 'You believe all the talking points from the 'Republicans.' Plus you're a racist t***.

'Immigrants to not have more rights. But just to help I've taken in multiple immigrant families to help! Now stay triggered! #snowroach.'

Another post said: 'By 2045 Snow roaches will be a minority. That scares you welfarequeens'.

Alongside the post included a Pew Research Center finding concerning the White population of America shrinking in the last decade.

After the posts made by the account were alleged to belong to Reeves, the account was locked. DailyMail.com has reached out to the account.

'@HouseForeignGOP must investigate and hold this agency accountable.'
