An 11-year-old boy tragically lost his life when a pickup truck slammed into a snow sled carrying three boys as they were riding down their driveway in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Three kids, aged between six and 11, were pinned under the pickup truck as it drove into a snowbank on Monday afternoon, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Caiden, the oldest among the trio, was declared dead at a Fairbanks hospital, while his sibling was flown by helicopter to Seattle for further care.
The third boy has been treated in Fairbanks for non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by troopers.
The driver 'took evasive action to avoid striking the children and drove into a snowbank,' troopers' spokesman Austin McDaniel said in a release.

The tragic sledding accident occurred shortly after 5 pm on Monday, when the three kids were sledding in a neighborhood off Old Steese Highway in Fairbanks, located 360 miles north of Anchorage.
After being pinned beneath the pickup truck, the three boys were initially rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Caiden was pronounced dead at the hospital, as confirmed by his family in a GoFundMe page set up for his memorial and funeral costs.
The family added that Caiden's younger sibling also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a burn ICU in Seattle for further care.
Family member Andrea Kennedy wrote: 'His younger sibling, also involved in the accident, sustained serious injuries and was life flighted to Seattle with mom and dad'.
The pickup truck driver, who has not been identified, remained at the scene and was cited for driving with an expired license, McDaniel said.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the accident but have stated that they do not suspect impairment.
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $53,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
Kennedy said Caiden's sibling Ajax was out of the first surgery on Thursday and was able to have the breathing tube removed.
She wrote: 'I am overwhelming grateful for everyone that has donated and continues to donate.
'This is a great loss felt by our entire community and the fact that everyone has banned together to support us is much appreciated.
