A courageous lieutenant from the New York Police Department put his own life at risk to rescue a suicidal woman from jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge.
Bodycam footage shared by NYPD captures the heartwarming incident that occurred on a drizzly Wednesday afternoon.
In the video, Lieutenant Hak Kim fearlessly approached the 25-year-old woman who stood on the beam, contemplating jumping into the East River below.
'No, don't do it! Get down please,' the lieutenant yelled repeatedly. 'Please don't do this. We got you. We're gonna help you out, please.'
Lt. Kim and his fellow officers eventually convinced the woman to come down. She was taken to hospital for a psychological evaluation, according to PIX11.

Kim did not hesitate to climb the bridge and open a dialogue as other officers voiced their concerns about the weather conditions saying, 'It's slippery, LT.'
'I got this,' he replied. Footage captures him shouting over the rain as he desperately tried to reach the young woman who was walking towards the cables of the bridge.
'My name is Lieutenant Kim, OK? I don't know what kind of trouble you are having, what kind of problem you are going through,' he said.
'We are gonna help you out,' Kim assured the woman, adding, 'Save your life. It's not worth it.'
'I got three kids. I don't know if you have a kid. I don't know if you are married or not, but it's not worth it.'
'We care about you, OK? Please don't do it.' Kim then asked the woman to sit on the span’s beam. The video ends with the woman coming down from a ladder.
