A British couple who sold their home to live in a van have revealed the toughest part of life on the road.
Jon, 42, a motorhome technician and Tash, 37, a magazine columnist, chose to swap their home in Hampshire in favour travelling around the UK and Europe.
Their new life has seen them drive across eight European countries while visiting other parts of England, Scotland and Wales.
Tash explained the couple wanted to have the freedom to travel with their beloved cats and were inspired to do so after visiting a motorhome show.
She also emphasised that such a lifestyle was only viable for the pair thanks to her flexible job, meaning it may not be viable for everyone.
A British have shared how they sold their home to live in a van, while revealing that there is a hidden tough side to life on the road
Jon, 42, a motorhome technician and Tash, 37, a magazine columnist, chose to leave their home in Hampshire in favour travelling around the UK and Europe
Speaking to The Daily Star, Tash said: 'We've been to France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands plus we've toured Wales, England and some of Scotland. We've enjoyed everywhere but we really loved Germany.
'We have many places that we want to travel to in Europe and further afield, but we think a tour of Ireland will be our next stop. We are based in the UK between travels anyway, but we plan to live in our motorhome for as long as we can, as long as it's viable and we're still enjoying it.'
That may sound like an idyllic, fun-filled lifestyle that sends some people green with travel envy, but the pair have noted some challenging aspects to life on the road.
'The best is the flexibility to travel to the places we want and always having our cats with us.
'The hard part is it can be difficult when your van needs repairs because it's also your home.'
The pair also shared a key piece of advice for any budding travellers regarding the importance of planning and regulations.
They urged holidaymakers to make sure they have the correct visas and meet passport requirements for the appropriate countries they plan to travel to.
The couple added that they were lucky to be able to find a van with everything that would meet their specific needs and requirements - with cats in tow - because very few are frequently available.
Six years later, they still have the same van, but have added made some slight tweaks and adjustments along the way so that they can both work remotely with relative ease.
Tash and John said it 'includes self levelling suspension, solar panels, lithium leisure batteries, extra USB sockets, a Maxx fan, refillable LPG and removing the oven. The cost of all of this over the last five years is approx £12,500'.

A similarly inspiring travel story saw a couple who fell in love after going on a road trip together reveal how they quit corporate life to become full-time nomads living out of a van.
When Brittany Lojko decided to join long-time friend Taylor Putman for three weeks on the road, she had no idea what would follow.
The couple, from New Hampshire, now aged 30 and 32, quickly fell in love and, after finding themselves 'inseparable,' didn't want their adventure to end.
Instead, they decided never to return to their old life and have since given a candid account of the good, the bad and the ugly of van life.
The pair, who were previously living in house shares and spending $2,528 a month each on rent and bills, knew they wanted a different way of life that would give them more freedom.
Brittany and Taylor purchased the 2014 Ram Promaster 3500 for $25,000 - but additional supplies drove the cost up much higher, with the total coming in at $45,000.
