Matthew McConaughey rocked a rather dapper look while hitting the red carpet at the 96th Oscars on Sunday evening, with his wife Camila Alves.

The 54-year-old actor and his 41-year-old model wife were all smiles on the Oscars red carpet at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles.

McConaughey was named as a presenter, almost exactly a decade after winning his first Oscar for Best Actor for Dallas Buyers Club.

McConaughey stepped out with brown sunglasses that matched his dapper brown suit coat.

He also stepped out with a white dress shirt and a black bowtie that matched the black lapels on his coat.

The actor accessorized with a black-banded watch that peeked out from his suit coat as he hit the red carpet.

He completed his look with black dress pants and black dress shoes for the Oscar ceremony.

The actor also sported the early makings of a scruffy beard for the annual event in Hollywood.

His wife Camila Alves, who he tied the knot with back in 2012, opted for a strapless long black gown with jewels encrusted along the bust line.

She accessorized with a silver statement necklace, long black opera gloves, a set of bangles and a ring.

The long black gown obscured her footwear for the evening.

The couple recently opened up in a wide-ranging interview with Southern Living about their decision to move their family to Texas from their Malibu abode.

They made the move a decade ago in 2014 with sons Levi, 15, and Livingston, 10, and daughter Vida, 13, opting for more privacy.

Alves stated, ''We were living a happy life in Malibu. We had a beautiful house that we'd built together and put a lot of love and care into. We were raising our kids there. I was growing everything in the yard. I had bees making honey.'

McConaughey had to re-locate back to Austin, Texas to help his mother and brothers with a family crisis, when his wife noticed a change in his demeanor.

She went on to recall watching him as they were stopped at a red light with a 'peaceful but confident, energetic look' on his face.

'You want to move here, don't you?' she remembered asking him, to which he responded: 'Yep.'
