Buckingham Palace is now able to breathe a sigh of relief after the outspoken brother of Kate's mother Carole Middleton left the show on Friday following a public vote.
The uncle shared royal insight while on the show which was said to have 'infuriated' his family.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Mr Goldsmith said: 'I haven't spoke to Kate in ages. In years, maybe a year. Weddings and funerals is when we see them.'
The Princess of Wales' uncle also commented on the Mother's Day photo his niece had edited, saying the family looked 'beautiful' and 'really genuine' in the photograph.
Kate has admitted that she edited the portrait that was released by Kensington Palace yesterday and apologised 'for any confusion' that the family photograph has caused.
The millionaire businessman added: 'The smiles on faces said it all for me, I thought it was beautiful.'

The millionaire businessman was the first housemate to be evicted from the ITV revival series of Celebrity Big Brother on Friday.
He had been up for eviction against The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon.
As he stepped back into the real world this weekend, concerns were raised over the possible digital manipulation of his niece's new family photograph showing Kate, 42, with her three children in the first official picture of the Princess of Wales since undergoing abdominal surgery in January.
However, the Princess of Wales has admitted that she edited the Mother's Day portrait that was released by Kensington Palace yesterday and apologised 'for any confusion' that the family photograph has caused.
The photo, taken by Prince William last week in Windsor, was the first official picture released of Kate since she underwent 'planned abdominal surgery' in January.
But there was speculation that edits had been made to the left sleeve of Princess Charlotte's cardigan, and other areas of the picture also raised concerns about possible manipulation.
A statement from the Princess of Wales said: 'Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C'
A source stressed that this was 'an amateur, family photograph taken by the Prince of Wales'.
They said the couple wanted to offer an 'informal' picture of the family together for Mother's Day and the Princess made 'minor adjustments', as she has shared in her statement on social media. An aide added: 'The Wales family spent Mother's Day together and had a wonderful day.'
It comes after the Press Association this morning joined five other top picture agencies in withdrawing the photo.
Kate also posted the apology on the Prince and Princess of Wales' Instagram account

Whilst still facing questions today over the photo, Buckingham Palace will be able to breathe a sigh of relief now that Mr Goldsmith has left the Big Brother house.
The uncle shared royal insight while on the show which was said to have 'infuriated' his family.
While Mr Goldsmith claimed he did not need the Firm's stamp of approval to appear on the show, it is said the Palace was watching his every move.
Among the disclosures made in the Big Brother house, Mr Goldsmith commented on his niece's health amid the torrent of speculation online.
He told presenter Fern Britton: 'She's getting the best care in the world and all the family has done is put the wagons around and look after family.
'They put a statement out that just said, "We'll just take some time to recoup and we'll see you in Easter."
Mr Goldsmith added: 'She's amazing, she'll be back, of course she will.'
Sharing his own opinions, Mr Goldsmith also called for Prince Harry and Meghan to be stripped of their royal titles on Tuesday night's episode.
He said: 'I genuinely think their titles should be taken away'.
Mr Goldsmith also said Meghan Markle put a 'stick in the spokes' and claimed she is creating drama.

The businessman and film producer also said that he and the Princess of Wales' mother, Carole, was a multi-millionaire by the age of 30.
During his time in the house, Mr Goldsmith also admitted he wants the chance to change the public's perception of him, after always being known as the 'black sheep' of the Middleton family.
GMB presenter Susanna Reid asked him whether this was in relation to his prior conviction of domestic assault against his third wife, Julia Leake.
Mr Goldsmith knocked her to the ground after she accused him of taking drugs during a drunken fight.
He later pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating and was fined £5,000 and handed a 12-month community order with 20 sessions of rehabilitation.
He responded: 'There are lots of things I am regretful of. I try to live my best life, but I fail consistently. That was a horrific episode. There are two sides to every story but ours was never heard.
'I am far from being innocent in this whole situation and I regretted it for seven years and I've tried day by day to be a better person. I love my wife dearly. We are still very much in love. It was a very tough period of time and it wasn't the best moment.'
