Dakota Johnson's trainer has lifted a lid on the strict work-out regimen that the actress stuck to in order to get into tip-top shape for her new superhero movie Madame Web.

The star, 34, portrayed superhero Cassandra Webb in the flick - which premiered last month - and now, the fitness guru who helped her get ready for the role has opened up about the immense exercise routine that she used.

Megan Roup - who is the founder and CEO of The Sculpt Society, a dance cardio program - worked with Dakota ahead of the film, and she told Women's Health Magazine recently that they started preparing months before production even began.

According to the publication, the Fifty Shades of Gray alum wanted to 'build up her endurance' for 'the long, physically-demanding set days' and to 'feel strong' while playing the Marvel character.

To achieve that, Megan told the outlet that she and Dakota would meet two to three days a week for a 45-minute 'full-body, low-impact' workouts that incorporated 'dance cardio, strength, and toning moves with small weights.'

'My full-body sculpt is pretty fast-paced, and then there's the endurance element to it. So it was a really nice blend,' she explained.

Megan said that they always started and ended with 'a little dance cardio,' which was Dakota's favorite part.

'She was so excited [for the dancing part],' the coach recalled. 'Just being able to feel that energy between us and be able to have that really fun last song, that was always great.'

Megan explained that none of their classes were 'exactly the same,' and that she would spend different days focusing on various parts of Dakota's body.

'Some days, we're going to do some outer thigh, inner thigh, and then the other days it's going to be more [glute focused],' she continued.

She also told E! News that some of the actress' go-to equipment were 'ankle weights, sliders, and a Pilates ball.'

In addition, Megan said the actress always tried to 'incorporate some movement into her day' even when they weren't meeting up for their classes, and that she also participated in yoga.

But she added to Women's Daily that taking time to 'rest and recover' was very important to Dakota.

'I'm always an advocate for a minimum of one rest day, ideally one to two a week for my clients but I never really needed to educate her on that,' she dished. 'She's super in the know with what her her body need.'

While reflecting on how she and the actress met, Megan, who also works with model Miranda Kerr, told E! that Dakota fell in love with her online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic since they're easy to do at home.

'She told me that she had been working out with me all through COVID and had been using my app and The Sculpt Society daily,' she said.

She gushed to Women's Daily, 'It wasn't like I was coming in and she was starting from scratch. She was already an advanced client.

'It's such a joy to train with her because she really enjoys movement. And I think this type of movement really resonates with her.
