The NYPD told DailyMail.com that the victim, a 66-year-old man, and another man 'engaged in a verbal dispute' on the road before the victim was 'assaulted and dragged by a vehicle.'

The video starts with gray Toyota minivan moving from the left lane into the middle lane, between two trucks.

Moments later, a dark gray BMW pulls up right behind the minivan before the driver swiftly pulls to the left side of the car.

As soon as the truck in front of the minivan inches up, the BMW driver cuts off the van and stalls all traffic behind them.

With horns blaring around them, the male driver of the BMW gets out of his car and walks over to the minivan driver.

He then says something to the driver before he punches him through the open window with his right fist.

The minivan driver then hits back as the other man backs away and goes into his car.

Both drivers continue to yell and point at each other as cars stuck behind them try to make their way around the dramatic scene.

The BMW driver, dressed in all black, then grabs the other driver through the driver's window before he tries to open the car door.

Appearing to unlock it from the inside, the enraged driver manages to get the minivan door open and wrestles with the driver inside.

With almost his entire body inside the other mans car, the minivan driver's feet are seen dangling out the side of the door.

After moments of being on top of the minivan driver, the other driver hops off of him and runs back to his car.
